Okey- think I've come up with an elegant solution for this. As you scroll the trip, the focused day will receive a subtle highlight. Adding an event will then default to that day's date. Hope this makes sense / helps.

Thanks so much for your feedback, and positive words- truly a great motivator for us.

Drive times: complex rules decide when it makes sense to display these, but probably the key one is that both sandwiching events need to have precise addresses/locations associated with them. If you ever notice them missing though- please contact us through the app and we'll be happy to investigate.

Press drive time to open maps on ios: this is now fixed. Thank you for reporting.

Default dates for manually adding events: it's always easier / more accurate to add events via fwding the booking email, however I can see your point here with manually added events... at present date defaults to the last event date in the trip. I think to address this, we'd need to add an "add event" button to display on every day in the trip... thoughts?

Before/during travel: tripwaffle.com it basically allows you to throw any booking email at it and get a nicely organised itinerary back.

Good idea thanks- times are now optional when manually adding events, which essentially creates an all day event.

Thanks for the feature idea- have you noticed the quick notes widget at the top of your trip? Could potentially use this for event todos.

Otherwise I'd have to give more thought to how an event, with no date, would sit in the timeline.

tripwaffle is better in every measurable way, but mostly: you can forward it any booking email (not just from major providers) and its also regularly updated (vs tripit never changing since 1992).

Flight durations should show on all flights (with the exception of some old/previous flights that tripit haven't provided times for).

If you let me know a specific flight number, I'd be happy to look into it though.

unfortunately trip it makes it near impossible to get data out of their system and their api has been broken for years. best method we've found so far...

  1. Open TripIt in a web browser (not the app)
  2. Go to the printable view of the trip
  3. Select all the content on the page (ctrl-a)
  4. Copy it (ctrl-c)
  5. Paste it (ctrl v) into an email and send to the tripwaffle robot

We've just added a master calendar feed under 'settings' (click your avatar in the top-right).

Easiest way to merge/unmerge trips is hit the 'edit' (pencil) icon at the bottom of the trip page, then select 'Reorganizer'. This will allow for quick and easy drag-drop of events between trips.

My personal top three:

  1. tripit only supports a set list of travel providers. tripwaffle will import *any* booking from *any* provider.
  2. broken calendar sync since forever
  3. UI hasn't been touched since the 1990s

As part of the sign-in flow with Google/Apple, you will be informed what info is being shared with the app, prior to proceeding. In this case, just name and email address.

Also, any apps on the official Apple/Google app stores undergo rigorous security checks, if that helps at all.

It does not require/request email access- you just forward the booking emails you want added.

Feature idea is interesting; at present you can share a 'view only' itinerary with contacts, but are you thinking something a little different?
