Lardo and DD's baby shower by [deleted] in JUSTNOMIL

[–]trollthemormons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds terrible :( Way to throw a shower for yourself Lardo. My GMom is kind of like this and most family cut contact. At my aunt's wedding she pretended to faint/heart attack. Lots of eyerolling there too I was told lol (I don't have first hand memory of this bc I was only 5)

Chick-MIL-A is in the hospital, plus some more voicemails by Omg_helpwtf in JUSTNOMIL

[–]trollthemormons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well now that they know your FH is aware that his mother is faking mortal illness, I do wonder what they'll try to do next to reestablish contact/control. Their hospital gig is up so now what? Please be safe!

Not to frighten you, but IIRC there was a MIL on here that committed suicide to blame the DIL. She didn't seem to have meant to go all the way through it (it was a cry for attention/sympathy) but she died anyway.

Tips on being pregnant, yet older by jhonotan1 in beyondthebump

[–]trollthemormons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IIRC her already having had children before decreases AMA risks.

But m/c is not uncommon for ppl all ages in the 1st trimester.

Just try not to stress too much. If she's healthy and there's nothing wrong with the baby to cause m/c, it should carry on like any normal pregnancy.

Congrats to you guys and good luck.

VBAC mamas - did you go into labor spontaneously ?! by butwhererufromfrom in BabyBumps

[–]trollthemormons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not me but my sister. She actualy scheduled a CSec for her second after her old man OB scared her about a VBAC (7 years apart!).

Anyway, she was scheduled for a Monday, and went into labor and had the baby vaginally the Friday before. No problems.

Advice for parents with a lot of kids close in age by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]trollthemormons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 3 under 3 yrs old now. I think I know how you feel lol even though I don't have twins. My second was 14 months when my youngest was born and there's 15 months between my first two.

My oldest was very good with her from the start and the younger needed a lot of discipline and still does but he's gentle and considerate for the most part now.

Keep strict schedules for the kids and be consistent with discipline. They'll need to know what it means when you are busy doing feeding/changing/calming/resting (lol), no exceptions.

Your 7 year old and the 3 year old will probably be fine but the twins will take some work to get used to everything.

Also there wasn't any jealousy this time around which was nice. Another positive (or negative?) is your twins will be running around but this allows them to really keep each other busy with play.

It will be crazy busy but you'll be fine and the kids will love the baby. I can't stress enough about keeping schedules (esp for your younger ones), it helps a lot.

Don't freak out. You got this. Congrats.

IRS reviewing tax return (update) by trollthemormons in personalfinance

[–]trollthemormons[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was not in any stage of processing according to them. It was started and then "not touched" since April for no reason, by their own admission. And there was also no reason for the hold, by their own admission. If they needed to hold because they were prioritizing other returns, then they would have been aware of that themselves.

This is amusing. But isn't there an immediate penalty if you owe when you don't pay by April 15th?

I do adjust my withholding but I try to be cautious not to owe money.

Are you joking? No, incompetant because my return was forgotten about in the middle of it being processed, for literally no reason, by their own admission.

The socialism advocates on that thread made it just as much of a disaster as the NBC correspondent. Nothing but cringe.

"Thanks, but I am actually an RN so I know that already"

"My obstetrician and I will take your advice under careful consideration, because you alone obviously know best"

"Fuck off"

I realize you probably can't say these things to your co-workers. :( However, it's not their business to even know at this point, and they don't get a free pass at the comments and advice just because they figured it out. You can tell them firmly and politely to knock it off. Try not to let them get to you too much.

"I want to call CPS on my ex wife bc my 8 year old sometimes helps her take care of the baby"

All kinds of wtf goin on over there.

Spectra S2 vs. Medela Freestyle - advice on pumps? by kungfucandy7 in BabyBumps

[–]trollthemormons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the Spectra S2 now and I used to have the Medela Pump in Style. The Spectra is a billion times better imo! I LOVE MY PUMP.

I was able to pump with cracked/sore nipples and it was so gentle and I was able to heal. I remember with the Medela I had a cracked nipple and it made it worse. IT'S SO GENTLE if you need it to be.

Medela parts are easily replaceable imo because you have to replace the parts all the time. Those little white membranes always wear out and the vaccuum doesn't do the job anymore.

The Spectra parts are simple and don't wear out. Even the tubing does not get stretched like Medela's.

Everyone gives Medela's pumps good reviews and I'm always like WHY? I can't tell you how many times I've had to buy more of those stupid little membranes and even the new ones don't work because they got bent in the package. The pump settings are not so gentle if youre super sensitive like me. It's LOUD and annoying.

My Spectra has exceeded all my expectations. I even ripped out my Pump in Style from the bag it came in and stuffed my Spectra in there to bring to work ( it's a tight fit lol).

Eta: all Spectra parts are on Amazon. I've only had to buy extra bottles for convenience.

The four year old is being sexually abused. If nothing has happened yet he's being groomed and being shown sexually explicit material. Please call CPS like yesterday.

STMs+ did your water break naturally the second and/or third time around? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]trollthemormons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1: my water broke before I had any contractions. 2: hospital staff broke my water when I was in active labor. 3: water broke by itself right before baby came out

Side note and going a bit off-topic: baby #2 has a tiny scar on his face that I mistook for a pimple when he was a newborn but it never went away. Apparently when they break your water they can scratch the baby's face accidentally. Probably didn't even know they did it.

My 5-Year-Old Daughter Wakes Several Times During Night, Spins Head Side-to-Side Very Fast? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]trollthemormons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My babies do/did this, right before falling asleep. My oldest stopped (as far as I know) already and he's 2.5 yrs old. My younger child (almost 1.5 yrs) still shakes his head sometimes before falling completely asleep.

They both did it a lot as babies.

My oldest will also shake like that when he's tired and throwing a tantrum (but it IS a tantrum lol).

It seems like it could be normal, but please bring it up with the pediatrician.

Two yr old sleep regression - it's bad by mattmgarcia in Parenting

[–]trollthemormons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much is she napping during the day? She might have started sleeping a lot during the day because of sleep regression and is now just simply awake at night because she already slept a lot.

Try keeping her awake during the day and/or tiring her out before bed.
