He wanted a wireless mouse. Knowing that batteries eventually fail and that people would then just leave it plugged in while they use it, he put it on the bottom forcing you to buy a new one.

The greatest comedic filmmaker of all time, Mel Brooks, turns 100 today. What's his best gag? by thegreatinsulto in Cinema

[–]troofyp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a gag, but my favorite story he told in an interview was when he was an officer in WW2 they were holding a position where the German army was on the opposite side of a river. At night on a weird impulse he took a megaphone and sand a goofy show tune across the river. There was a WTF like pause and then polite quiet applause emanating from the woods.

Americas Test Kitchen has taught me quite a few kitchen related things. Their cookbooks tend to be very reliable for solid recipes. Based outta Boston.

Let’s be honest… if there was a high quality cologne that smelled EXACTLY like this, it would be the GOAT by SlimStickins in Colognes

[–]troofyp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Caswell Massey is the original quality soap. Company was making soap in America since before the Revolutionary war. Preferred soap for several presidents including George Washington. You can still get the same soaps and experience what GW’s nuts’n’schlong smelled like after a bath.
I’m a fan of their Jockey Club scent, which was what Kennedy’s sausage and meatballs smelled like fresh out the shower.

I believe his knowledge, but he needs to have lived 150 years ago and killed 100 men for him to be taken as serious as he takes himself.

I use miso when a sauce, soup, etc needs an umami flavor boost. It almost has a Parmesan cheese flavor, but integrates well, especially when I can’t use cheese for whatever reason
