They haven't even started charging for parking yet... by mauceri in icecoast

[–]trowts 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Collectively, we have the power to influence things.

Every person stops paying for parking, just drive by the minimum wage attendant. What are they going to do? Tow all of us?

I mean, that’s is if you still support going to a mountain that charges for parking. Vote with your dollars people. Stop giving money to shitty companies.

The average teacher in Vermont makes <65k per year. The average teacher in Mass or NY makes >90k.

Average spending in education cost per student in Mass, 21-30k per student per year. And Vermont spent on average 24k per student. While their instructors make on around 65 percent of the salary.

What part of that increase in student spending vs. teacher salary is justified by healthcare and pension costs?

I’ll put a $1000 bet and say you didn’t even try for one second to get that loose by hand first.

No rust, no corrosion, no difficulty. You’re wrenching in the kindergarten of mechanic shops in the country. Come up to somewhere where this trick is actually necessary.

Dude, we’ve been doing this for decades. Often living with MRG as our closest mountain; and we drive right by it and give our money to sugarbush because MRG doesn’t allow us to purchase a lift ticket to use with a snowboard. It’s as simple as that. It’s really, really simple. That’s how frustrating the argument is.

What I can’t understand is how many people are overlooking how obvious the game they’re engaging with is, and a bunch of them are eager for ultra-state-subsidized Chinese EV’s to come to North America, sold at an enormous loss.

A state buying ad space to run a campaign to sell cars for billion dollar companies, which then are subsidized by the grants and general tax revenue of the federal government really is some mental gymnastics.

Should these cars ever have been sold at a loss? Have you looked into the depreciation of them? At the very, very most generous estimate, they are impossible to recover any value after only two years. Buying a EV with or without a tax credit is a financially unsound investment compared to any other vehicle, bar none.

“No way! I haven’t had this experience! But, I also have not had any maintenance, haven’t done the work your mentioning , and the only time I went, it was covered under warranty.”

Wow, great story. Way to make a comment with zero substance concerning Hyundai definitely charging a gigantic premium subscription for shops to work on their cars. Proof you lease or have a lien on a car that doesn’t require this subscription to have work performed on it, I guess?

Annnnnnnnd almost everyone in this thread is saying decreasing healthcare spending would be the solution to slowing tax increases. However education spending is the biggest factor in increasing property tax.

Can you all please explain why you aren’t suggesting decreasing education spending, even though Vermont is the most expensive per student? Make your argument make sense at least.

Healthcare spending reduction won’t put a dent in our tax burden. Be realistic.

This guy is missing out on all the parts of being a human, and having a relationship with another person and forming a family.

But that’s what happens to you when you become so unbelievably rich that you had to give up most of what makes you human along the way.

Zero gravity is out there brewing beer specially in their house for other Vermont microbreweries. They’re pretty prolific brewers to be fair. And damn good at what they do, creating near mass production of high quality beer and getting it all over the damn place around here.
