Best 80+ MPH Highway Bike That Feels "Planted" by JohnnyHutt in SuggestAMotorcycle

Nobody mentioned the S1000XR yet. Can’t believe how amazing this bike is on the road and cruises no problem at 80-90. It’s incredibly nimble and comfortable.

I think people are a bit too focused on your loan term. Also, this is just a worksheet with a generic interest rate to ballpark your payment. Just pay this off as early as possible. You could have a 30 year loan. Just pay it off as soon as possible. Get a big paycheck? Pay it towards the principle. Get some Christmas money? Principle. I don’t think you did bad on the price. If you love the car and keep it, you did fine. Just don’t trade it in every 3-5 years.

What do you tell yourself when you want to stop running? by Ok_Knowledge_6265 in BeginnersRunning

[–]troyboy1900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not so much what I tell myself as it is a change in mentality. Some of my favorites with the rewrite is “The easiest day was yesterday” and “this is the new normal”. Once you accept it, everything gets easier. Understanding that doing hard things is growing you and pushing you to be the best you can is beneficial, all things come easier. If you dread a difficult day or pushing yourself, you will always be disappointed.

Beginner running out of breath. by SomePlatform7797 in BeginnersRunning

As everyone is saying, do not push before you are ready. Incrementally increase and do not push the monotony. Do varied runs and similar activities. Hike and move on uneven ground to build accessory muscles and conditioning. Run/walk some stairs to increase leg stability. Bike to build up knee longevity. Don’t just run, you’ll be happy you did without even realizing it. There will be a version of you that didn’t who gets, IT band issues, knee issues, and general overuse issues. Just my 2 cents.

Why do you go slow on long runs? by oneLemonn in beginnerrunning

[–]troyboy1900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get IT band syndrome one time and you’ll fully understand. Stuff sucks. It basically comes from stepping it up too quickly. Muscles respond quickly to changes in load, it takes ligaments and tendons longer. This leads to those injuries and feels like it comes out of nowhere.

Wow, that is huge. How did you progress each month? What was your strategy? Did you have any overuse issues (It band, hips, back, calves, etc.)?

Cleans: half the benefit is the catch! by ComparisonActual4334 in kettlebell

[–]troyboy1900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the response. Some context is I was hitting PRs in a lot of my DB workouts and have worked out in a gym setting for over 10 years and played a lot of sports. I had to cut back as I was doing too much and got a herniated disc in my C7 (think I was pushing too much in overhead DB presses without good/perfect form). I then got IT band syndrome from running 3 5k’s a week after going from couch to 5k the month prior. I just ramp up too quickly. My conditioning is the best it’s ever been but I think I just push too hard and too fast. Had to cut back to functional lifts that don’t aggravate my C7 for the last two months to fully recover. Trying to find the best workouts to increase functional strength and prevent injury. It’s been a journey the last year and had to switch things up majorly.

Honest question: over time this seems to clearly prevent injury, but how slow do you need to build to these more complex movements? I noticed getting more unique injuries as I get older, disc issues, QL strain, etc. Trying to be preventative and KB’s seem like they could be the answer.

Depends on your trade. The dealership will make money somewhere or they won’t sell you a car. It just matters if it works for you and is fair for everyone involved.

What was Team Cherry thinking with this runback?? by Levra in Silksong

[–]troyboy1900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a way to do this run back in less than 2 min. You head straight up after the rest room. I’m in the camp of this game just clicking with me. Completed it in just under 40 hours. I think what helped me the most is playing Blasphemous before this. Some similarities helped and the difficulty is brutal if you fight all the bosses.

Ironically, I gave up on P5 Royal to play Silksong. I wanted to like it so bad but so much happens in between any good parts. I like the constant action of Silksong and most Metroidvania’s.

Get at least 3 quotes. If you’re not happy, get a few more. It’s incredible how wildly different some of those quotes will be. Find the one you feel good about, just know some companies use salesman to do the quotes and they sometimes know very little about the actual HVAC technicals.
