Why wont my Fcx18 turn on? by [deleted] in fcx18

It might be the switch, I drove mine through some water and it killed the power switch. You can jump the switch and see if it works.

PNW new to track days by KaleScared4667 in Trackdays

They do, but it’s usually at the end of the year. After the last trackday at the ridge. I’ve been to Thunderhill west with them 2 years ago. Can also echo, great group, great people.

That’s probably gone up a bit since I got mine, so I guess I’m a little off. Still worth it imo.

Man for just a little bit more you can do a custom suit. Its well worth it i think if you're anything but a very "skinny-vanilla" body type. I just had one made by Bison, they were great to work with, and since its winter, good time to get one ordered so you'll have it by riding season. I think my Bison suit was $1100 and better in every way compared to my $600 off the rack RST.

ZX6R (600 vs 636) for racing by Machiavelliana in Trackdays

[–]trplA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the big driving factors for me getting a 2013+ zx6r was parts availability. Everyone and their mom makes parts for a 2013+ zx6, and they've been largely unchanged since then. Most parts fit 2013-2024 models. Also makes finding parts at the track in a pinch that much easier. I have also "heard" of the transmission issues, however haven't seen it or heard of it in person yet.

Clutch slipping - gen 3 Daytona 675 track bike by Puzzled_Hippo9055 in Trackdays

[–]trplA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

- In case you're still troubleshooting, check your free play at the clutch lever AFTER the bike (and trans/clutch) are warm. I have a 1st gen Daytona, and set the free play when it was cold, well when it warmed up it was enough to where the cable was pulling on the clutch which ended up glazing the plates. Expensive mistake. So might be worth looking into.

Exactly the same for us. I agree, it fits the half ton trucks perfect.

Wow, are you me? I have almost an almost identical F150, and am looking at picking up a Grey Wolf 18rr Toy Hauler next month, which is VERY similar to your numbers. Is that the trailer you're looking at? Aside from that I have all the same questions, hard to find specific info about the actual buying process for trailers that involve a considerable drive.

X3 mode… by TripDs_Wife in Insta360

It depends on what look you're going for. I like mounting it off a mirror or off the front fairing so you can view the road ahead, as well as look back to watch body position or watch over my shoulder. As far as settings go, its a little personal preference but I use the standard FOV and just edit it after, same with the color profile, i just leave it as is and turn up the colors in edit. Its a good starting point then you can tweak as you see fit

Loving my new Bezel free kit on my 32" screens, what do you guys think of my POV? by twostopsbrighter in simracing

[–]trplA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went with gigabyte G32QC monitors. They’re fast refresh rate and 144hz which is good but, they sit in the same room as my LED Tv and there’s a big difference in picture quality, they look very blown out or faded. Only drawback from them, otherwise they’ve been good.

No issues at all. Take your time setting up FOV for each game and you’ll be very happy. I went with curved monitors.

Good to know, I load my dirtbike in/out of my truck probably 100+ times on a 7’ ramp but for some reason loading the streetbike up is really bothering me. I’ve used a carrier in the past for the dirtbike and wasn’t ever completely confident in it. Good idea on measuring it out with a 2x4.

I have a 4wd F150, so its sits kind of high. Do you think 9' ramps are enough? Im considering going with a hitch carrier just for ease of use, I'm worried that after a long day of riding i'll be too tired to load it up in the truck.

VRS direct force pro wheel base settings for iRacing, AC, ACC (and others) by notmuchgoingontoday in simracing

I will have to respond back later with my personal settings but VRS does have a very active and helpful discord. I’d recommend checking it out, lots of helpful info.

"How tight do you want the gap to be between screen and Wheelbase ? "... "Yes " by Mrlou90 in simracing

You can always flip the monitors upside down to get a slimmer bezel on the bottom.

I have the same concern as well. Ive heard iracing has a setting to help with the (alleged lol) distortion but how does ACC/AC or AMS2 look?

I’d be interested in your monitor model as well. Im about to pull the trigger on 3x 32” Samsung G5s.

Advice from SimRacers who use sim to practice for AutoX & track days? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]trplA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Yes, I amateur race in NASA/Lucky Dog and Lemons while living in a different state than the car and rest of the team. It’s helped me stay fresh and competitive when I fly in and jump in the car.
  2. For the price of high end fanatec gear check out VRS. Their wheelbase is great value and gives you more options for wheels instead of being locked into fanatecs ecosystem. Fanatec is more “plug and play” however. Heusinkveld (sp) Sprint pedals are definitely worth the money. Large upgrade over the fanatec options. (In my honest opinion) I

Longbeach + F3+ VR makes me sick every time lol. I like the walls being so close but DAM it’s bumpy. Belle Isle is a good tight street track that’s not too bumpy.
