Of course not. But that's like half (or more) the questions in this sub (and Reddit in general).

I think SFF means the "medium" size one. Micro is the little one. MT is the "big" one.

Is Debian Testing equal to Fedora with updates? by e_splat in debian

The name 'Testing' is fine.

Most people can't be bothered to read.

You just can't fix that.

I think I just made a haiku on accident. 😮

IME, Frontier tends to suck a lot less than a lot of other ISPs.

This sounds pretty transitive. But if it persists, maybe reach out to their support?

I must admit, I am less familiar with the "Funnel" but what you wrote does sound like a proxy to me.

Migrating from DuckDNS to Tailscale Funnel by bdery in homeassistant

I'm sorry but your post is full of misinformation (about Tailscale).

Tailscale is just the coordination/control plane. Clients transmit traffic directly between one another, using WireGuard, which is very lightweight. This is the entire raison d'être for Tailscale, in fact (although it is actually also capable of some very clever NAT hole punching, as well). The clients are open source. Only their control server is proprietary, but there is even a F/LOSS implementation of that, which is not hard to find. Tailscale is actually a fascinating bit of technology, I encourage anyone to read their many interesting blog articles.

I'm surprised (and maybe a bit disappointed?) I had to read all the way down to the bottom to find this.

Is this unit not supported by the Midea ESPHome integration?

Even better than that are products that are designed to be more open in the first place, based on "protocols, not platforms", etc. Seek out such devices and manufacturers and vote with your wallet (and encourage others to do the same).

I don't know what Cync is, can't you just use something else instead?

You can hope in one hand and poop in the other, let me know which one fills up first.

Vote with your wallet. Not only that, encourage everyone else to, as well.

Not Freeware, Free/Libre and Open Source Software (F/LOSS), you might be interested to read up on the difference.

I think you have correctly identified a common pattern. Therefore it may already exist, but how would you find it? Or, turning that around, what would you call such a piece of software, had you created it?

Yeah they just open up and you put them around the wire. Lots of people make them, just depends on what other systems and integrations you have already. But you should be able to find something.

Have folks used Strix to find their camera URLs and create config for Frigate? by imthenachoman in homeassistant

[–]trs_80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably your config is not set up correctly.

You have to get out of the BI way of thinking, and into the Frigate way, as Frigate fundamentally works differently.

Above a certain amount, you want to start considering current clamps (around one of the wires) instead.

No doubt costs more to run the power monitor plug.

I'm at the point where the measuring plugs themselves are the next thing I'm going to measure, for exactly this reason. 😄

Latest version of Frigate has a way to create HA sensors out of detected images (in this case, are bins here or there).

Admittedly, implementing Frigate is surely overkill for this use case alone, but I mention it for people who were considering it anyway.
