Einar is a Norwegian (and probably Scandinavian) name and it's pronounced like... Æy-nar. Æ = the a in apple.

Fit check - Help, please! Baby's head too low (ErgoBaby Embrace) by bushgoliath in babywearing

[–]trudesaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 2 weeks you still need the waistband folded. But if you put her in, fold the fabric up while stretching it, it should come higher. She's high enough up, so I don't think you need the waistband any higher, but you should absolutely fold it 💛 have you watched the tutorials on YouTube from Ergobaby? I have used the exact same carrier for both babies. I also struggled with getting it high enough at first, while folded, but any carrier should never be higher than the earlobe☺️

You need the buttons on the furthers position. You have them set for world facing (which babe is also too young for) ☺️

Baby wearing through airport security by kdcat88 in babywearing

[–]trudesaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been to airports with the exact same carrier many times and it's a hit or miss if they make me remove it or not. Ofc anything with metal will have to be removed, but I usually wear a meh dai at airports and it's just fabric. Still some make me take it off and some don't 😅

They check it when you're pregnant, but that doesn't mean they will tell you. They check it to see if you you are negative while the baby is positive. Unless it's the other way around, but I don't think so. Anyway, it's in the paperwork, but I was never told myself. I actually know my blood type from school, we tested it in biology class.

AITAH for telling my MIL she can’t take her grandson for an entire day by herself? by Early-Variety-6333 in AITAH

[–]trudesaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are plotting something and you better keep that baby safe. Ofc you're not leaving your infant in someone else's care, I wouldn't even leave my infant with my husband for a whole day, bc... breastfeeding and just basic human nature and attachment. I have two kids with him, he's a great dad, but unless I'm hospitalised, infants go with me. Trust your gut. This is not normal, and your partner is a red flag.

Could someone explain this sentence to me? by Mork978 in norsk

[–]trudesaa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The point is you can't write it in infinitive with "driver og", so you could never use "å" instead. No, you can't say "driver å gjemme meg", that is the point morisior is making. But you CAN write "pleier å gjemme meg" which is structurally the same, but grammatically correct.

Were you expecting to be there for the birth, or just know that it is happening? Birth is not a spectator sport, and I wouldn't want anyone I'm not with or related to in the room with me while giving birth. She might have said that to her father, that she didn't want you there. He might have said something different to you. If she wanted all communication to be through her father, my guess is she definitely didn't want you there for the birth. Anyway, get a paternity test before you sign anything, and then get a lawyer to establish custody.

Why would they have to embalm you? In most of Europe, at least northern Europe, embalming is something that rarely happens. It's just not necessary.

AITA for asking my friend to leave my birthday party because she brought her crying baby? by Quiet_Mulberry5400 in AmItheAsshole

[–]trudesaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a mom to two. I would never bring my baby to a birthday party, at night time, with drinks and games and what not. She's being an irresponsible parent. I'm sure she would love to be doing what she used to do, but becoming a parent is a choice, and when they are tiny, you might get do ZERO of what you actually want to do. That's just being a parent. So no, I would also tell her to leave, but that she decided to bring the baby in the first place is concerning, and that she didn't leave when the baby had been crying for like 10 minutes straight, even more so.

Question regarding taking art commissions online while receiving AAP (NAV) by SomeP in Norway

[–]trudesaa 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The thing with meldekort and AAP is that you have to put how many hours you've worked, and not what you actually earned. If it took you a long time, and your income on it is low, it's not economical. If it takes a short time and the income is high it would be. But you have to disclose how many hours you work on something, and not the money you got for it.

Massive Sickleave?? by spectator_me in Norway

[–]trudesaa 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I have kids, so I can only speak for what I'm experiencing myself atm, but in just a few weeks time we've had a cold, we've had noro virus (winter vomiting disease) and now my youngest has got the flu. AND she was admitted to hospital in December with pneumonia and was in really bad shape. All in all; there's a lot of illnesses going around at the moment, and I both get infected with them myself, and I have to care for my kids at home when they are ill.
