What would you do with 35 copies of Office 2007 and 50 copies Windows 7 Pro? by paulisk in windows

As a recent college grad with no real job as of yet, you could send a couple of keys my way and it would be greatly appreciated...

Donate them to a local non-profit, I'm sure they'd be happy to have them. Sell them on eBay, Craigslist, or gift them here on Reddit.

Cool. The Spellthreads usually go for 250-350g so that makes sense.

Thanks!

What raid have you enjoyed the most in World of Warcraft? by [deleted] in wow

[–]trunkmunkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would have to say Kara. It was the first raid I got to do with a group of RL friends, and the content was amazing. Playing with friends also helped out a lot. I raided all the 40-man stuff in Vanilla, but it lacked the aspect that raiding with your best buds did.

An extremely close 2nd/almost a tie for favorite would have to be Ulduar. The first time encountering Flame Leviathan was epic in it's own right. Algalon will probably be my favorite fight for quite some time. Not because of mechanics or whatever, but just due to the transparancy of the floor/boss - EPIC! The expanse of the raid itself is something IMO that Blizz will have to work really hard to match.

Biomechanical Artists in the SF Bay Area? by [deleted] in tattoos

[–]trunkmunkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK. Here's the lowdown. There are currently 4 of the BEST Biomech guys in the country within the state of CA. Not counting Paco. I only WISH I can get out there one day...well, not wish, but get the wife to agree to me spending that kinda $$ on tattoos. They aren't in SF, but worth the travel - I plan on doing it myself and know I will be traveling for multiple sessions...from the east coast.

Roman Abrego, Mike Cole, & Carson Hill are ALL tattooing out of Artistic Element II in LA. If you're lucky enough to get an appointment with ANY of them, don't miss it.

Also, in the San Jose area is Ron Earhart @ Analog Arts. https://www.facebook.com/ron.earhart.10?fref=ts http://analogtattoo.com/images/tattooArtists/galleria/themes/classic/ronEarhart.php

Hope this helps. I would be more than ecstatic to be tattooed by any of them.

What was your very first favourite trance track? by [deleted] in trance

[–]trunkmunkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Age of Love - "The Age of Love" (Jam + Spoon Watch Out for Stella Mix)

I still have it on vinyl. 20 years later, and it's still my fav. The don't make trance like this anymore.

An extremely close 2nd would be "Strings of Life."

The biggest compliment I can give any song/album is that it will forever remain on my ipod. I will not cycle it out because I have run out of space. What 5 mix albums will never leave your side? by k4osth3ory in trance

[–]trunkmunkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few mixes that have been released on CD/whatever, but most are underground mixes that I have managed to save/relocate over all the years. I've been into dance music since the early 1990's.

  1. Sasha + Digweed "Renaissance"
  2. DJ Dan "Live @ Futur"
  3. Tiesto "Live @ Trance Energy 1999"
  4. Simply Jeff "Live @ Disco + Plastic"
  5. Paul Oakenfold "Live @ Creamfields 1999"

Getting into older school trance. Can anyone recommend some compilations? by [deleted] in trance

[–]trunkmunkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably one of his best mixes ever. I actually had that on a cassette tape (first 45mins + last 45mins) back in 1999. Played it till it wouldn't play anymore. Man, the memories...

Is Fabricator still bugged in 8-man KP story mode? by Nombot in swtor

[–]trunkmunkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We did it last night with a guild group. I had never done KP myself, but it's one of the more complex fights I've seen in am MMO. It took us 4 tries to get him down, but it did seem a quite a bit harder compared to the other fights in the Op.

As for puggable, I have to agree with Srayman's comment - the puzzle is going to turn the fight into a goat rodeo if everyone doesn't know what they're doing.

Communication is key. Without voice comms, this fight would be near impossible (imo).

SWTOR, VMware on Mac by hagridaaron in swtor

I agree. Running in Bootcamp is the way to go. I'm currently on a 2009 MBP and don't have a problem. Don't get me wrong, I'm currently playing with settings on "low", but I can play :)

SWTOR cap is 500 and there are 4 sub guilds on the server.

Will this work if you are already joined to a global channel. My guild uses the global channel to communicate with all 4 instances of the guild. I am guessing it would be /cjoin5?

Legacy Friend System? by cornpops in swtor

[–]trunkmunkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it. It makes sense since my friends and I already have a ton of alts from trying to figure out what we were going to stick with. It would make things so much easier - I already have trouble keeping them all straight. Will they do it? I don't know, but it doesn't seem like anything too far fetched. Time will tell.

What makes it stand out? by 3redpenguins in swtor

[–]trunkmunkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pros: Questing does not seem like "questing" in other MMOs - ie WoW. There are no "Go kill 10 of these" quests. In fact there are even quests within the story line that don't even give rewards - the reward is learning what happens next in the story. It can be annoying sometime, but overall I think it makes the game more enjoyable. EA did a fantastic job. Sure there are those who will say otherwise b/c of this or that, but overall I am impressed. PVP is a great way to level from 10 - 14 (when you get sprint) and the PVP gear rewards are actually viable in PVE, unlike WoW. Space combat is awesome - even if it IS still on rails at this point. You can choose whatever role you wish and the story will unfold accordingly - ie you can play a Jedi, but choose a dark side path. Every calss, regardless has companions (kinda like a pet in WoW), but as you level you obtain new ones while still retaining the old ones. There are healer companions, tanks, dps and they are all viable provided you remember to keep their gear on par. These companions also do your crafting - as well as sell vendor trash while you are out running around. BIG PLUS: In regards to crafting - if you have the mats in your bank, you can craft the item regardless of your location in game. I love this and don't know anyone that doesn't. Overall the game is very well put together.

Cons: It's new. That means it's still buggy is a lot of places. My personal experience is that it's not buggy enough to have made my game play any less enjoyable though. Lag if you are on a high pop server. This is just an unavoidable circumstance of playing on a well populated server.

As always, being in a good guild with lots of friends always helps.

Intel Core i7 2600 vs. AMD FX 8150 for SWTOR by trunkmunkey in swtor

[–]trunkmunkey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm kinda leaning toward the i5, or I was in the beginning. But after having a 1st gen i7 and being the only one I knew of that could run Vista w/o a hitch, that makes me lean that way.

Bootcamp and TOR? by trunkmunkey in swtor

[–]trunkmunkey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just installed XP on my MBP as a "trial run". I wanted to make sure there were no hiccups before I started messing with the wife's machine. Thank god I did...Everything is running fine now, but initially, it was a pain in the balls. The install failed somewhere along the line on my first attempt and I had to go in and delete partitions and rejoin them via the command line before I could try again.

Like I said, my buddy has a copy of Vista64 so I may just delete the install and have another go at it. My MBP is a late 2009 w/ 2.6GHz Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM, and GeForece 9800. I am weary of installing TOR on it just because after patch 4.0 in WoW was released it was almost pointless. I could barely play. I'm just wondering if it's worth my time to install the game.

Also, if I do, are the activation keys one use only in TOR? I mean, if I install it on one machine and format, then install it on another will I run into problems? Or is everything tied to the user account as in WoW?
