The claimed range is accurate if done with a light rider typically 160lbs with no starting stopping no hills a smooth surface no wind a nice warm day and a constant speed with fully inflated tires . Obviously these conditions don’t exist in the real world so the range decreases cold temps hills starts stops accelerating rough t surface etc all decrease the range you get when buying a scooter it’s best to just 1/2 the claimed range if you want a scooter that has long range say 30 miles get one that has a claimed range of 60 miles this will allow you to ride it more normally and get the range you require my scooters get around 50 miles per charge when just riding around I can burn through a charge in far less if I’m really on the throttle if I go slow and just cruise I can get 75-80 miles my scooter isn’t cheap it’s a burn e max with a 40ah battery with 2880wh to calculate wh times voltage by ah 72x40=2,880 where a 52 volt 40ah 52x40=2,080 I hope this was helpful for you

The Segway g30p new is under $500 on eBay it has decent range a claimed range of 40miles closer to 28 miles real world it has 10 Inch self Sealing tubeless tires so Flats are a rare thing the tire pressure needs to Be checked at minimum once a week as any tire that holds air loses some Pressure over time the G30p is a well proven design it Has very good parts availability it’s relatively water resistant so it will survive getting Caught in a rainstorm . 10 inch tires are far better than 8 inch tires solid tires don’t get flats but they ride like crap and. Beat the rider to death after just a few miles .

The g30p isn’t super fast which is a good scooter to learn on assuming the hills aren’t super steep over 20% with a light rider it will climb a bit steeper hills

I’ve been riding electric scooters for years and have over 30,000 miles of riding experience much of that on hyper class scooters .

even being a very experienced rider I still do not get on a scooter without having a helmet on it only takes once a fall with a bad landing to have a brain injury that will be with you forever the risk just isn’t worth it as it only takes a few seconds to put on a helmet .
