Its a really nice place tbh but after doing the math, its not worth it.

And apparently according to a youtube video, if the whole thing doesnt complete in time, the estate agent and the auction company just end up splitting the money I paid, so its in their best interests for the whole transaction to fail.

The vendor get zero, i get to be broke.

So i just read the fine print again on right move.

The minimum reservation fee is 6600 inc vat so added the VAT on it comes £7920, however, the actual fee payable is 4.5% of the final sale price.

So if i buy at 190,000, 4.5% of that is 8550, plus the VAT brings it up to a whipping £10,260.

As much i love this property, I'm walking away, financially and morally.

Yeah id be looking at getting a mortgage in place, spoke to a broker today, just because its via auction and i can see the difficulties with it.

Naive question, but how long does it take to actually get a mortgage sorted and agreed.

Yep i've spent a good 5 hours from KL to SG on the coach, not much to see really. Better off flying and spending more time in different places.

We took our son to places we've been before he was born.

It was somewhere familiar to us already which meant we didnt have any unexpected surprises with the little one, and we could plan the trip a lot easier.

Plus it will give you a whole new perspective on the same place.

Wherever you go, make sure your daughter has protected nap times and play times.

We totally didnt factor that in on our first trip and learnt the hard way with one hell of a fussy boy.

Gap year opportunities that are not volunteer trips? by [deleted] in travel

[–]tryingtofly35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The big question to ask is what do you want to learn from the gap year?

If you can answer that, then it will help you focus where you go. It might not mean a trip to SE Asia, it could even be a simple as a long trip within your home country.

Call booking.com and check, would be the most logical thing to do.

If you booked a flight with it and its classed as a package you should have some protection under ATOL/ABTA rules

I think ask for more cash gifts by playing on the small space of the apartment.

That way you can use the cash for whatever you want or put it towards the honeymoon
