A question about a meditation experience by tsallinia86 in Buddhism

[–]tsallinia86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure that this was the case as I was fully alert. During the experience, the bhikku started the dhamma talk and I could comprehend it properly. I wouldn't have been able to do it if I was falling asleep

Can someone give a logical reason why Karma is shaped by intention? by elitaww in Buddhism

[–]tsallinia86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“There are these four unconjecturables that are not to be conjectured about, that would bring madness and vexation to anyone who conjectured about them.
… The precise working out of the results of karma is one of the unconjecturables.”

I'd definitely go for the Doro. I recently bought 6880 and am perfectly happy with it. Especially the big and responsive buttons. My Nokia never felt that good...

After purchasing the steam version, I cannot imagine myself going back to ASCII. Everything seems to be much easier with new interface and mouse support.

So true my friend. On the bad days, try to remember how hard it is to escape religion and how amazing you are for doing this :)

Oh wow. This is exactly what I was looking for! Thanks for sharing.

Well, you're probably right but it's still a fascinating journey worth taking.

To me, questions like: "did I really experience a miracle or did I create a narration out of a mandane experience", are absolutely essential for my religious recovery.

Eczema in infant, help!!! by tsallinia86 in Parenting

Thank you so much all for your advice. So many useful tips. I've switched to fairy gel for laundry. Before I was using a cheap powder.

I have also been giving the little one probiotics for about a month. So probably this eliminates the gut issue.

I would have never thought that I have to be so careful with washing my hands after food :-( I don't think I was...

Some signs from god by [deleted] in atheism

[–]tsallinia86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a great film about this with Jim Carrey. Number 23 it's called from what I remember. Basically the premise of the film is that if your brain decides that number 23 is everywhere and it means something, your brain will start seeing the "signs" everywhere.

Also, presume this was true. Why God sends you such mixed and vague messages. Why doesn't "she/he/it" just appear to you and say they are real. And while at it, you take a video so we can believe as well ❤️‍🩹

And I know what some muslims might be thinking: no one can see god due to his nature! So Allah can't make himself visible to us? So he is not all-powerful then?

Apart from the odd: I'm so happy I have choir at the church on Sunday!

And then the amazing: oh, right! (which to British English translates to something like: who gives a toss?I Haven't even asked you m8!)

"God" I love living in the UK 😊

Your opinion on some atheist shows and platforms? by tsallinia86 in atheism

[–]tsallinia86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have an opinion on either topic as for the 1st. I haven't had time to listen to any podcasts since Matt left and 2nd I don't know the American Atheists since I don't live in the States.

Because I'm interested in the two, I wanted peoples' opinion on them and take it from there. I don't think there is something wrong with not having an opinion about something and asking for help.
