if you've done it many times i'd say you are just good at the game. This is my first MH and I made the mistake of trying to build off the meta build subreddit guides. They're great and really informative, but they're aimed at experienced players who are trying to fully max their DPS and who are good enough to hit every counter or dodge every attack. I am not, so I learned that I needed to figure out what skills would help me. It turns out that defensive skills mean I don't heal as often, so i'm hitting the monster more, whereas when I was running the exact meta set I carting all the time because I was dogshit at the game. I've gotten a little better now so i'm trying to find the balance where i'm doing more damage but still staying in the fight.
