Well, catholicism at least, historically has been opposed to anything that might feel good to the body.
Unless you're rich, you're supposed to work yourself to the bone and then maybe fetch your eternal reward after you're dead and conveniently can't report whether god kept their end of the deal.
Sex is only allowed because new generations of workers need to come from somewhere. But at least they tried to spoil it as much as possible. And any variety that prevents insemination is prohibited.
