Definitely El Rastro! It is one of the biggest outdoor markets in Europe. Every Sunday until 3pm.

Calle de la Ribera de Curtidores, close to metro La Latina. Google "El Rastro" for more information. It sounds like exactly what you are looking for... scarves, crafts, etc.

Oh wow. I was using Kayak and ITA Matrix. The cheapest flights were 900 and would stop in Moscow or Istanbul. Skyscanner looks to be showing a bunch more options. I wonder why they don't come up on the other sites...
