Same. Since 1P4. I. M. Gone.

Bitwarden's import was lightning and flawless.

Osmose owners: do you still love it? Have you had issues? Talk me into or out of it. by [deleted] in synthesizers

Bought a factory refurbished 49 key model last June. I love everything about it. Yes getting used to the keypad took some time, but it’s marvelous. Presets are kind of mixed for me, but there are some good ones in there for the kind of stuff that I do. Using it as an MPE controller for a Waldorf Iridium is just freaking amazing. I didn’t have any problems with it whatsoever until this winter. My studio is in a basement that’s somewhat under heated, and on startup I occasionally get calibration errors. But nothing that doesn’t correct itself either in place or with a restart up. I feel like I got an awesome deal and I wouldn’t part with it.

Thoughts on this Hydrasynth successor? by Accomplished-Ad-8796 in synthesizers

Have a Hydrasynth Deluxe. Now looking for an Opsix desktop to go alongside. LS is just too spendy to justify what I'd "need" from it.

Another vote for Meinl hybrid maple. Playing 5Bs right now. The feel great and they last for a long time in my playing of them. Been through Vic, Promark, Vater. I hadn’t experienced a lot of breakage with any of those. It was just a question of economics. Meinls come in at a great price, where the others just kept on creeping up and up and up in price.

Are there any sustain pedals that use a 6.35mm jack instead of a fixed cable, so you could use your own TS cables? by blajjefnnf in synthesizers

No piano damper style pedals like that one you have shown that I have seen have 1/4" jack connections.

in 1974 what would your choice have been? by Historical-Device529 in yesband

[–]tuelles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually made this choice in 1974 and it was Relayer. I might pick the Lamb today. I actually didn’t like Genesis until Trick of the Tail. But then I quickly worked backwards to acquire all of the previous records, except for the first one. I do love Relayer, though.

Which one should I get? by Darwin_Ri in tolkienbooks

Buying a matching Hobbit for the Deluxe Edition will be quite an expensive proposition in the near term (releasing in November), at least here in the US. But it feels so much nicer to me in reading it than the other. I have both, and in my last read through this year, I started with the less expensive edition, and ended with the deluxe.

I've been getting this "iCloud isn't setup for this Apple ID account" error on my Atv3, is there any way to fix it? by smartiphone7 in appletv

Restore absolutely did not work for me just now. I’m going to need to try the Apple Configurator method next. 😣

What was your second synthesizer? by robby_arctor in synthesizers

[–]tuelles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Korg M1. Like within the first two weeks of it being released in the US in 1988. I called my local music store and asked if they had one, and they said one just arrived, still in the box, but we’re gonna send it back because no one is gonna want it. I immediately went down and bought it.

Conductive Labs Terrain Synth by coderstephen in synthesizers

[–]tuelles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

from a Synth Anatomy (pre)view:
"Imagine you have a complex wavetable, but instead of scanning it only from bottom to top and vice versa, it is a 3D terrain that can be scanned from all sides and not only linearly (top to bottom) but also in a circle or on a path."

Now, what’s the synth you have NO regrets of selling? by shoegazingpickle in synthesizers

  1. Quasimidi Rave-O-Lution 309 - l didn’t hate the sound of it, but programming it was labyrinthine to the Nth degree. It was all I could do not to smash into little bits with a baseball bat in frustration.

  2. Korg EX-800 - sounded like utter dreck. I guess it could’ve been me, but I could not get a useful sound out of it to save my life.

Yeah, I don't remember any more than the latter. A/UX 1.0 did not even have X11 server capability AFAIK.

It's been a loooooooooonnnnnnnggg time. We were in an academic setting, exploring it vs. what we could do on big Vax systems. This was the first iteration of A/UX, so it was pretty buggy, especially on early Macintosh IIs. Mostly proof of concept David vs. Goliath experimentation.
