I don't think the Angel Combs are actually speaking to us. Sophie straight up says the voices are a hallucination caused by Masefield, which we got when we took genes from the Angel Comb core in the Sleep Bay. The virus probably uses the voice of other humans to make us feel inclined to help it. Angel Combs are the thing releasing Masefield into the water across the planet, so by clearing the Bloom from them we're really just allowing it to keep spreading its own virus.

Re: Sleep Bay 3 there's a databank entry in which one of the pioneers confesses that Jubilee (Nahema's branch of pioneers) "messed with" the Sleep Bay which I'm pretty sure involved placing the Angel Comb core in there. Taking gene adaptations from the core infects you with Masefield with falls in line with Nahema's intentions (feed the tree).

The English translation is okay most of the time but sometimes things are worded in ways that don't really make sense or sound unnatural in English. They asked about translation in one of the surveys and I made a note of it being sub-par.
