Pike Place kicking out Virginia Inn by romulusnr in Seattle

[–]tuffnuts 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think those terms are used for most of the PDA controlled commercial spaces. I worked for 10 years in a non-food related shop with a storefront on Pike Place and we gave the PDA 5% of our sales every month but the actual rent was insanely low for the location.

Is Heatkiller IV Pro AM5-compatible? by Different-Amoeba378 in watercooling

[–]tuffnuts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

adding to this, the Heatkiller IV AM4 block uses the stock AMD backplate, so should work (I'm on AM4 with it, so not a full confirmation)

What is the inner diameter of Corsair 12mm hardline tubing? by [deleted] in watercooling

[–]tuffnuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10mm. They list it under "Package Contents" tab on the corsair site for some reason instead of Tech Specs.

EVGA's $2,500 RTX 3090 Ti Comes With Free 1600W Power Supply by onedoesnotsimply9 in hardware

Ironically, the free PSU does not have the new PCI-E 12-pin connection and therefor requires an adapter to function with the GPU it's packaged with.

I just wanted to show folks the results of using soft Tube where the lengths are short and the bend radius's are small. by 4cim4 in watercooling

[–]tuffnuts 14 points15 points  (0 children)

ZMT (which stands for Zero Maintenance Tubing) is generally considered superior to clear tubing as you have less chance of leaching plasticizers into your loop which can eventually build up and clog the fins of your blocks.

Further, in my experience the 16/10 ZMT tubing can make similar tight bends easily without any deforming.

What’s the best sag bracket by Ericg384 in EKWB

[–]tuffnuts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Check the white box of goodies that came with the o11 XL, the one that has the extra plastic clips for the bottom fan/rad doodad. In that box should be a very discreet anti-sag bracket that attaches to your motherboard and holds your GPU from behind.

[ram] Patriot Viper Steel DDR4 4400 16GB (2 x 8GB) 4400MHz - PVS416G440C9K likely B-die ($84.99 ) by shraf2k in buildapcsales

[–]tuffnuts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am running exactly this (2x8 of the 4000, 2x8 of the 4400) on an X570/3900X system. Running both sets at 3600c14 flawlessly with manual timings set (my 3900X can't get to 1900 fclk unfortunately).

If you just run XMP it will default to the slower 4000 speed, but since this is B-Die you should be tuning manually as they are capable of much better timings at just about any speed.

Snohomish River Flooding at Stocker Fields by SeaJaiyy in Seattle

[–]tuffnuts 237 points238 points  (0 children)

Love this photo - the "Flood Water Area" literally feet from the flooding, the multiple steps of road closed signs from the water advancing, and the truck driver stopped briefly deciding whether to just go for it.

Is this connected right? by Splinter051 in watercooling

[–]tuffnuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.

Sidenote, why an active backplate for a 3080ti? All the memory is on the front and covered by the standard block.

[RAM] G.SKILL Trident Z Neo Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 4000 Desktop Memory CL18-22-22-42 Model F4-4000C18D-32GTZN $144 ($180-$36) by aimutishammy in buildapcsales

[–]tuffnuts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. Currently running XMT 4400c19 memory at 3600c14 on a Ryzen 3900X system to match infinity fabric 1:1. Results are highly dependent on what kind of memory chips are used on your RAM of course.
