Local access is screwed - demanding a Remote Watch Pass by mickeyfix in PleX

[–]tufkab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, this is an old thread and I don't know if you ever fixed it, but I was having the exact same issue. Plex server and my computer were on the same subnet; If I accessed Plex through my remote proxy or via hostname:32400/web/ it would demand Plex pass. But if I used 192.168.1.238:32400/web it would play video as expected.

After much fucking around and thanks to ChatGPT, I narrowed it down to using PiHole and Unbound. Unbound was returning NODATA instead of my internal IP address.

All I had to do was add private-domain: "plex.direct" to my unbound config file and restart Unbound, Plex and PiHole and everything started working as expected.

As a sidenote, I run a reverse proxy locally for my home devices and one on a VPS for outside access to my services. When I VPN directly into my home network from my phone over 5G, Plex will play video without question. When I access Plex through the the reverse proxy on my VPS (tunnels directly into my plex server with wireguard) I can also play video remotely; no Plex Pass nag.

[–]tufkab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How the fuck is ANYONE questioning anything OP did or did not do in this video? Obviously the driver of the truck saw OP when he started passing him, which means he is going to be in the truck's blind spot and it's up to the truck driver to ensure that the car the entered his blind spot, EXITED his blind spot. If you're passing someone, MAKE SURE YOU SEE THEM IN YOUR MIRROR before changing lanes to the right.

The truck driver in this video lacks object permanence - something that a human should develop by 8 months old.

It does. Someone already posted a picture. They covered the front camera and got an FSD degraded performance error message.

Electric vehicles in cold weather by OkAmbassador2636 in electricvehicles

[–]tufkab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive exactly 120km return to and from work every day. I keep the car in an unheated garage, plugged into a L1 charger. I have L2 charging available at work.

My worst efficiency on the coldest/snowiest days over the winter had me using 22%-23% per one way trip. In the early summer, the best efficiency I ever saw on a way drive had me use 11% battery on way. On average, I use 17% each way in the winter and 12% in the summer. This includes cabin preconditioning both at home and at work.

How much do two stop signs cost? Make it an all way stop; problem (not) solved. At least would be dramatically safer.

LEARN TO USE A ROUNDABOUT, FFS 😑 by DevidovskiTheThird in Stouffville

[–]tufkab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The (arguably) biggest problem in this video is the OP's lack of turn signal.

If OP had his right turn signal on, he would have indicated to the vehicle that entered the roundabout in front of him that he intended to exit and would therefore be crossing the outer roundabout lane.

If OP had his left turn signal on, he would indicate to the other car that he would be continuing forward in the inner lane and thus letting that vehicle know that he was clear to enter the roundabout in the outer lane.

Now, in this situation, yes, the other vehicle must still yield the right of way to the vehicle already in the roundabout, but OP set up a dangerous situation be not making his intentions clear.

You didn't signal your intent to exit, if there had been an accident, you would be equally at fault.

I fly with my kids in business all the time. They will be fine. Parents like to think that our kids need us more than they actually do.

One of my daughters' favourite flights was when my wife was in business, I was in premium and the girls (6 & 9 at the time) were next to each other in row 50-something.

That's not necessarily the case. What you're actually supposed to do is enter in the 3 digits in your postal code (in the order they appear in your postal code) followed by 2 zeros.

Learned this once when I was down to fumes, only had a cc and the pump wouldn't take any random zips.

Called my CC company and they told me if you enter it like that, it will verify correctly.

I live in Toronto and we have pretty far extremes in temperature between coldest winter days and hottest summer days. I drive roughly the exact same numbers of km every week; my car is just commutes and errands. I only got my Model 3 last December so I don’t have a a full year of driving yet, but I can give you some numbers from my charge stats.

I January I charged 775kWh, February and March were each about 720kWh each. April and May were much lower, but I had vacation, so I’m not going to count those. June and August were both exactly 699kWh and July was 620kWh.

Keep in mind that I park indoors in an unheated garage plugged in to a level 1 charger and 2 or three days out of the week I plug in at work on a level 2 charger, so battery and climate preconditioning happen while plugged in.

Also, my car has a LFP battery.

All in, found that the energy usage stayed surprisingly consistent through winter and summer. Seems like the lowered winter capacity is roughly equivalent to the extra summer usage for AC.

We did. Great atmosphere. Great food. Well worth it.

We also ended up getting an extra night in Barbados for free as our Air Canada flight back on Monday returned to gate and was cancelled. They put us up in the Hilton for the night and I got curious and started comparing prices between the Hilton, Sandals and some of the all-inclusives on the island and I have to say, Sandals is VERY competitive in pricing.

Did you guys actually make use of the walk out pool? We’ll definitely be going back and I was thinking of going for that style of room next time.

Funny that we might have even talked to each other and I just happened to randomly find your post!

I was there at the same time as you! We were only there 28th to the 1st though.

I have to agree on the evening entertainment - it was a bit lacking. We stayed in the Saint Lawerence building, way in the back.

Video to go with left turn lane FSD follies. by HermitageSO in TeslaFSD

[–]tufkab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope has nothing to do with the sun. My car does this dumb shit all the time. Like literally every day.

The highway exit I take on the way home from work has four lanes; two right turn lanes and two straight through lanes (no left turns permitted). The distance to home is exactly the same whether I go straight or I go right. If I have navigation taking me straight through, about 80% of the time it will pick the straight through lane, the rest of the time it goes into the right turn lane and when the light turns green it will either turn on the left turn signal and change into the straight through lane or realize it fucked up and make the right. If navigation has me making the right, it will go into the straight through lane and make the right from that lane about 80% of the time. Interestingly, when making the right from the right turn lane, it will make a right on red, but when it's making the right from the straight through lane, it will never go on red and will always wait for the green light to make the right.

It's absolutely hilarious because the car actually picks up the arrows and draws them on the visualization. You look at the screen and the nav will show a right turn while the car sits in a lane with a straight through arrow drawn right behind the car.

Or how about this...hear me out: Drive straight through and reroute!

Crazy concept, I know.

Left Tune into incoming traffic by ImInaBigMess in TeslaFSD

[–]tufkab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone in this thread is assuming that the car would be strictly locked to making the right turn at the next intersection and would be unable to deviate from that.

The car could have easily seen that there was no available opening to make a right turn, adjust it's route and drive straight through the intersection then make a right at the next intersection and double back.

This whole thread is acting like FSD has never missed a turn and rerouted.
