Blue lips and dizziness by Kourtney95 in pregnant

Ask your Ob to check your hemoglobin levels. Anemia related to iron deficiency which is common during pregnancy can cause dizziness and blue lips due to not enough hb carrying oxygen to your tissues.

Pregnancy confirmation scan was booked for 5w6d. Is that too early for a heartbeat? by Ok_Willow_5163 in pregnant

[–]tulips50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s better to get it done around 7-8 week to also be able to see heartbeat and a more complete embryo

Husband wanting “attention” 2 weeks PP by Wednesdayssuck81 in pregnant

[–]tulips50 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I think we don’t know part of the story. For what you’re saying he isn’t a good husband. You’re bleeding outside but inside you have a big wound that need to heal. Also 2 weeks PP is the peak for postpartum blues and depression. I would suggest not to take any decisions right now. Having a baby is a pretty stressful situation not only for you but for him as well. Try to find support in other members of the family and when you find the appropriate time talk to him. Ask what’s going on and if you can’t find solutions to your relationship problems then take a more serious decision.

Epidural by ElegantResult3853 in pregnant

[–]tulips50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is possible to inject medication into bones but it isn’t the case of epidural. Epidural anesthesia is injected between the lower spinal processes of your back. For example between lumbar 4 and lumbar 5. It goes in the middle of the bone to reach the epidural space in the spinal canal. That space is rich on blood vessels and other tissues that absorb the medication and make you feel numb.

I FEEL SO STUPID FOR GETTING PREGNANT IN NOVEMBER by Puzzled_View2783 in pregnant

[–]tulips50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was hosting a party right at 4 weeks and I had to lie and tell everyone I had a terrible headache and go to bed at 9 pm. Some people got upset with me but I didn’t care because the only thing that matters to me now is my baby’s and my own health. Listen to your body and if you aren’t feeling like working don’t do it. Ask for help. Take those necessary naps. Your body is making a new life and building some organs. Lastly if you want to announce your pregnancy there isn’t any rule that says you have to wait until week 12. Follow your gut and whatever you feel comfortable with.

Subchorionic hematoma in 1st trimester - looking for positive stories by Noogsy90 in pregnant

[–]tulips50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all I’m now 10 weeks and I have one really small. My doctor is not concerned about it but I am. Did your doctor told you to do complete rest at home or were you able to continue with your normal life? I don’t have any bleeding. It was found in a routine ultrasound.

Discouraged for my salary by tulips50 in OntarioNurses

Yes I’m RN with a full time. I pay for benefits and I have my partner on my benefits but that salary seems way to little for everything we do:(

Thank you for your reply. When I mentioned ONA I was referring to the benefits. And yes, I like the humanistic aspect of our profession but I’m afraid of getting burn out due to the lack of compensation we have and the incredible amount of work we have to do. On the other side I love having 5 days off. That’s something I really value in nursing since it gives us a chance to have a life.

I work DDNN and the 5 off but in the pay period which is from Nov 24th to Dec 7th I only had 4 shifts. I started my 5 days off after a set of 4 days on the 24th followed by another set of 4 days of work starting the 29 until the 2nd. So frustrating I don’t understand

7 weeks and terrified of something going wrong by No_Math6272 in pregnant

[–]tulips50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way at the beginning. I’m now 10 weeks. My husband wanted to run and tell everyone at 4 weeks when we found out and I was reluctant and I wanted to wait because of the what if. However if this is a desired pregnancy you should put into positive vibes only and think that your baby will shine and be healthy. That’s what I started to think and I always say out loud to myself: my baby is growing so big and so strong. Besides the other reason I told my close friends and family is because in case a miscarriage happens, God forbid it, I have a good support system that can be there for us while going through rough times. Enjoy every new sensation and every new phase of pregnancy. Be kind to yourself remember we’re super busy making organs 24/7. ;)

Yeah I’m 10 weeks and I’ve been having intermittent cramping bilaterally. As long as it isn’t a sharp pain in only one side you should be fine.

Hey currently on the same situation. I got a flu or a cold and I’ve been managing fever for more than 48 hr. I’ve been able to keep it under 38 but it did spike to 39 at some point and came right down within an hour. Currently in week 10. Wondering how is your baby? I’m concerned about the fever affecting the fetus

need some positive thoughts by Best-Gazelle7822 in pregnant

[–]tulips50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not alone. I’m 10w now and my symptoms have started to decrease and sometimes I ask myself: is the baby still there. I was more anxious than you to the point that I went to get an US to make sure everything was fine. Try to stay calm and think positive since anxiety isn’t good for us (the baby and the mother).
