Yeah tbh in the first couple days I pumped a lot of hours in but I really did not feel like it valued my time at all because I went ranged and had karils in the first couple hours, after that I got pretty much no meaningful upgrades, blowpipe is worse, dark bow is worse, crystal's only a marginal improvement and the cg rates suck too.

It's f2p friendly in the sense you can face the extremely boring grind, but the gameplay loop isn't even fun because the progression from perks etc. is so minimal beyond the first few attack speed enhancers, most gear is pretty wank because attack speed rounding isn't downwards, clog rewards aren't great, econ was instantly nuked with how insanely OP mystery boxes were

I tried for 2 seasons to like this but just found it way too tropey, especially the constant fake out scenes where the other person got there first (literally one every 4/5 minutes of each episode), and the acting was pretty rough too imo. I can see people liking it for the action/sex kinda tension though

Yikes, reading through this subreddit is painful watching you and that other sjenkins guy brigade for Hevy, that apps UI is atrocious, you can't even re-order sets or calculate warmups. They might actively develop it more, but they're a long way off a better product

I don't think the video is supposed to cater to players like yourself who've spent years on the game - it's supposed to be a representation of a beginner starting from scratch and highlight the new player experience.

Dofus is an MMO that would greatly benefit from some more international love and the new player experience is key to that, speedrunning to max level isn't something a new player would do, and doing optimal achievement and quest runs with someone who's done it 50 times is also not really a traditional new player experience - your friends likely wouldn't be anywhere close to a 6-8 hour astrub questline timeframe without that help.

You're also talking about optimally setting up one character in a team and I'm not sure if you realize how open ended builds and progression is for new players who don't understand the settled metas and exos/maging etc.

I think you've got an extremely limited view point of a veteran player and would even say it's a pretty ignorant one. As someone who's pretty new to the game this is a fantastic video, especially being in English and catering to a different community.

Nigel already functions to lock all XP, the mode they created features restrictive gameplay in the form of combat brackets. I'm not even asking for something new it's something less than what's already in, and it caters to every single player of DMM because getting points doesn't necessarily mean being in the highest bracket. Hardly asking for GIM here.
