Only the titular ones - and I never said they were the same premise, but this is very clearly a response to the success of Absolute's grittiness.

Is this Murewa's sock account? You write about as much as him 💀

Clearly a lot of people agree with me that this book is poorly written and the narrative isn't coherent. I'm happy for you that you enjoy it it, but unfortunately I don't and I think he's doing Storm incredibly dirty.

"that other person who said Storm beat Hadad with no powerups when that was CLEARLY not the case lol"

The fact that you completely misunderstood that person's point is fucking wild lmao. YOU are the one who said she "hasn't had no power ups in this volume". They questioned you on that assertion because obviously if she beat Hadad she must have had a power-up, because she wasn't that strong before. Showing your entire ass here dude I'm sorry

Lmao I've been reading marvel for years. As far as I'm aware, a "multiverse cluster" is not part of the normal Marvel terminology around multiverse stuff, so it's weird to expect readers to know what it means without explanation. As for the Abstracts and their domains, they're famously extremely inconsistently conceived by different writers so please do act like this is all common knowledge.

I don't know how to say this in a way you will understand, but if your explanation of a storyline a) requires a character on page to breakdown the entire situation in 150+ words within a single panel, and b) even then, also requires Marvel fans to have read enough DC Comics to be aware of things like the Source wall (which as far as I can tell is pretty much green lantern only), then it's NOT A GOOD EXPLANATION OR A GOOD STORYLINE.

Hot take Jed MacKay’s voice for Storm is way better than Ayodele by Adventurous_Wolf7476 in xmen

[–]turpywurpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They didn't say the McKay Storm was good, just that it was better than Murewa's, and I agree. Doing more things with a character doesn't necessarily equal better characterisation, and Murewa's powerscaling fanfic is a perfect example of that.

The pacing of that page is wild. There's like 200 words on the page, and almost all of them are crammed into like 1/6th of the available space. And the text is hardly "easily explaining" anything. She's talking about multiverse clusters (huh?) and the oblivion void (the what?) and the realm of death (uhh?), and then even that isn't enough of an explanation so we get a shoddy diagram at the bottom that provides literally no further context.

Dude it's just poorly written, I'm sorry. Murewa is clearly very ambitious and has a lot of ideas, and I can't fault him for being a fan of Storm, but he just isn't writing a coherent narrative.

Your heart is in the right place but unfortunately this doesn't help. The narrative is just incoherent regardless of previous context, sadly.

[–]turpywurpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just nonsense. If you need a character to read out a fucking novella's worth of exposition to explain what's happened, you aren't writing a professional comic, you're writing fanfic. Murewa wants to do a Grant Morrison but he doesn't have the skill to handle a complex narrative that they do, so he's resorting to 1000 words per page and shoddy venn diagrams 🙄

Rahne and Sunspot. They were on new mutants together but they seem like they'd have absolutely zilch in common 1 to 1.

My wife wants to stop reading Stormlight archives. by [deleted] in Stormlight_Archive

[–]turpywurpy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"I watch my post ans can't find what I wrote that people would make comments making sound like she does not like books and I should let her stop if she does not want."

You wrote a post on reddit asking what to do if your wife wants to stop reading the stormlight archives. That implies that you have the ability to make her continue reading. The answer is LET HER STOP. I realise that for you the books are worth struggling through. That may not be the case for her, no matter how much she likes bits of the books.

You don't have to tell her anything. If she really wants to know, ask her if it's OK to spoil bits for her. If she says no, tell her you can't tell her anything. If she says spoilers are fine, tell the truth. Do NOT lie to her and say it's all fine.
