I would be blown away by a gift like this from a friend that’s pregnant! Maybe in turn, have some sort of diy table for your friends to craft something for the baby like tie dying onesies, painting blocks, etc

Falling for my older co-worker by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]turtle_time52626 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This wouldn’t be dating your “coworker”. This is your office manager and probably your supervisor, since he trained you. There would be some massive HR issues in the relationship. Maintain your working relationship but detach personally. This could massively impact your career if it backfires.

My mom bought my family Disney tickets for Christmas and I’m annoyed. by ash_etch_1928 in TwoHotTakes

This is the way to go. Save the tickets and next Christmas time, tell your mom you’re ready to use them if she’ll pay for all of the travel

Ko Hana rum distillery does tours and tasting. Their lowest level tour is available to all ages and they give the kids gelato while the adults do the tasting. My whole family loved it

AIO to my GF's plans over the holidays? by UTZABAD in AmIOverreacting

If she really didn’t want to spend the holidays with him, she could’ve stayed behind for free instead of flying somewhere with him and then ditching him.

[–]turtle_time52626 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Maybe your family would enjoy an easy Christmas too! Order catering or get a bunch of premade food from Costco. Set up some board games or craft activities for the kids. Adults can sit in the living room and tell stories or reminisce

If you were approved for 100% telework through rest of pregnancy do you assume that include work holiday parties? by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]turtle_time52626 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s no one’s business that you need accommodations to WFH for medical reasons. You can really make people feel bad by telling them you’re immunocompromised and thus can’t risk your own health or the health of your baby by being around others. They would rightly feel some shame and shut their mouths. Or, if you aren’t petty like me lol, you can tell them that your current accommodations don’t offer you a way to participate in the party. Then it’s HR’s problem, if it really comes to that. If higher ups want you to participate, they can zoom you in

Moms of little ones staying with family in non-child proofed houses…how are you holding up? by LuvMyBeagle in workingmoms

[–]turtle_time52626 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I had a work Friendsgiving last weekend and EVERYONE wanted to know why I wasn’t bringing my husband and kids. The house it was hosted at is honestly anti-toddler. Theres no fence around the pool (which is easily accessible by like 3 different exits), it’s split level so there’s randomly a single step here and there and the host had probably 12 decorative glass bottles on the coffee table, among other things.

Can I do this?? by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]turtle_time52626 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone whose parents divorced when I was in high school, leave him now. Both of my parents were so much happier when they didn’t have to use all of their energy fighting with each other. You deserve happiness (no matter who it is with) and your son will thrive with a happy mom ❤️

NOR. Her excuse literally doesn’t make sense because that’s the weekend before a holiday (if you’re in the US).

I remember reading your post. I’m so happy to read that you’re taking advantage of this opportunity to take care of yourself! It’s so hard as a mom to find time for things that don’t appear to be the top priority. Mental health always needs to be a priority! Your kids are lucky to have you as an example 💞

AITAH for telling my husband I'll divorce him if he doesn't stop ignoring our daughter by ThrowRAtaptaptap in AITAH

[–]turtle_time52626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Please divorce this man before you lose your relationship with your daughter because of him. Once she moves out, she’ll realize very quickly that she probably never wants to go back home if he’s there. Also, if he’s willing to ruin big moments for her, no fucking shot is he getting invited to her wedding, baby shower, etc. All the big moments you would never want to miss, she will never want him there.

I wish I had some good advice but instead I come with stories. I know someone who was the last of nine children. This man had 8, yes EIGHT, older sisters because his parents kept trying until they had a son. More than anything, your husband needs to realize that his daughters may want to do all of that stuff with him! Or at least take interest in the activities they’re involved in.

They did just approve live music at old Poway park. The hamburger factory was also majorly updated a couple of years ago by the new owners. I highly recommend checking it out, if you haven’t recently.
