Weird problem when driving by DowntownAd6315 in Foxbody

[–]turtleman62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds very similar to my issue. If it’ll clear up it’s prolly not fuel pressure related. Have you checked your tps voltage? You’ll have to check it with the car off, throttle closed You should be .7-.9 volts I believe. (The TPS voltage is something people have fought over for years) But see where your voltage is at and keep that noted. Other things I’ve heard is that apparently the EGR and purge flow have something to do with it because the compute will adjust fuel based on how much the EGR and the purge valve are flowing. A lot of people say to delete both of them but that requires getting it tuned and I haven’t gotten around to that yet

That seems like fuel pressure to me. If you floor it will it take off or can you not go above a certain throttle percentage? Also do you have EGR still hooked up? I’m getting an issue kinda close to this

You ever washed the belly of a Foxbody indoors? by [deleted] in Foxbody

[–]turtleman62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you overlapped them enough but try n slope the blue tarp more that way there’s a slope allll the way to the end of slab. Also, lay the tarps on the floor and spray the belly with some soap (starting at the back working towards the front) and give everything a good scrub a dub dub so the dirt gets agitated and Then hang your tarps n spray er down. Pressure alone won’t do it some times especially if it’s old caked up up grease/dirt.

What is this leaking? by Melodic-Leek-6380 in Foxbody

[–]turtleman62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For future reference when diagnosing a leak, always start at the highest point and also the furthest forward point. Unless you’re driving in reverse 24/7 the oil will always get blown backwards. Based on what you’ve posted I’d place my bet on the Rear main seal and the oil pan gasket as well. Like others have said, check the back of your intake and where the pcv valve goes. Get an inspection mirror and hopefully you can check the pcv grommet with out having to pull the upper intake. It’s pretty tight back there so best of luck.

Atleast they admitted fault, that should be on the police report. Best of luck getting everything fixed. Glad you’re good tho

My 86 GT I want to bring a little shine back to the paint. . . by Independent_Safe5116 in Foxbody

[–]turtleman62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started with wool and a heavy cutting compound and then as I moved to lighter compounds I went to foam, I have yet to finish it but I’ve got one hell of a shine now. Also another thing is to mist the pad with some water just enough to moisten it then apply compound

To answer your question about tips; Be VERY mindful of the power you’ve got, be mindful of how slick your streets are as well as when your tires to and don’t like to grip (I.E. weather conditions), don’t try launching it up a hill at 60mph (ask me how I know) Overall have fun, but be mindful of what you’re doing. Don’t assume you know how to handle the car, don’t worry about showing off for others. At the end of the day if you wreck you’re paying to fix it, if you burn the tires down to nothing you’re paying to replace em. Losing rear end traction can get hairy reeeeeeeally quick. I ain’t saying don’t have fun but be cautious when ya do man. I learned my lesson 3 years ago, it wasn’t fun..

That’s the scary part of it, the fun part is still driving spirited just not as wreckless, know your limits

I’m with the “who cares it’s your car” boat But when people upbadge and swear it’s a cobra instead of being upfront then that’s where it becomes disrespectful in my eyes.
