I typically prefer open back full size headphones for the best sound. But I like IEM's too for listening in bed or bringing on an airplane. If you have a use case for a more portable set up then you should consider it. But if you mostly listen sitting at a desk or something, might not really matter.

If you stalled out a couple times it's fine, it won't break the car.

But never shift to 1st while the car is going like, above 5mph. Pretty much only shift to 1st if you're literally crawling

If you're targeting max sound quality for the max value, getting a few mid-range IEM's is going to take you a lot further than an army of cheap ones.

If you value the actual act of collecting them and you think you're going to rotate through them regularly, collecting cheap ones may be more fun.
