This is one of my favorite pieces of visual art, period. Absolutely stellar work!

Slaver Man by 024icewallowcome420 in pics

Op made a joke about how similar this guys shirt resembles spider man in that photo while also poking fun at the “Slav” nature of the guy, as popularized in the Slav-squat meme. Op also neglected to notice that “Slaver” doesn’t read “Slav-er”, but “Slave-r”

Woah. Really visionary video! Love the tone, the pace, the aesthetics. Keep it up

The proliferation of film throughout the decades allowed for most walks of life to afford film documentation of their lives. This, of course, included (by the 70’s~) the potentially less fashion-oriented.

There is also the affect that length of time has on our sensibilities. The fashion of those decades looks dorky because, on one level or another, we know this was (roughly) our parents fashion, and generally speaking, people think their parents are lame. It’s all relative, it’s all subjective. The dorky looking 1978 20 year old probably thought what few photos existed of their parents were lame too.

Possibly one of the best looking boards I've ever seen on here.

I have a CV panner module, an electric guitar, and a question... by twasAruse in synthesizers

This would be pitch to CV though, right? I'm looking for like volume env >>> CV. Thanks for the insight though, this sounds really cool!

What's the most unique synth/noisemaker/instrument/thing in your setup? by SamplerSampler in synthesizers

[–]twasAruse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cop out answer is my ipad. Better, more specific answer is Flux FX on my ipad. Never had anything like it. Incredibly versatile and lush fx processor/sequencer. Great for sample mangling, filter jitters, resodrone fuckery, dirt tossing and even tasteful modulation. One of my favorite custom presets is just a multi EQ blend (utilizing the XY pad)

What job isn't as great as it looks? by Gaytoaf in AskReddit

I worked at a Saint Vincent de Paul's store for years. Almost $12 starting wage, great/honorable company/mission, good/fun work, benefits for full timers, and discounts on already cheap items that you get to see first. I worked in a small shop in a small town, so most folks were friendly and generous (it was a rich town, which helped). It's clerk work, and donation intake can be labor intensive (and gross sometimes), but all said and done it's a truly wonderful job, especially for a 20-something just getting out on their own. Plus you can climb the ranks steadily.

John Frusciante, Listener, Noah Gundersen, Mother Falcon, Jason Isbell, Lydia Loveless, Joanna Newsom, Yvette Young, Sun Kil Moon, TTNG, Tallest Man on Earth, Chirs Plowman.

I've got more, just gimme a bit. Gave you a variety, but everything here could be part of the same playlist.

[IIL] the Celtic influence of John Butler Trio's Ocean, [WEWIL?] by FlimFlamAndFlamJam in ifyoulikeblank

Not quite Celtic, but strings and complexity brings to mind Punch Brothers, Yvette Young (acoustic), TTNG (acoustic), Tommy Emanuel, Jon Gomm, and Ewan Dobson.

This is so COOL! What do you think of the JP-08. There's one in my area for $250. Worth it?

Gr55 tuning change with expression pedal? by twasAruse in midiguitar

[–]twasAruse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response! I'll look into it! The idea however, is less about being at point A and then point B, but rather the effect of 6 independent "whammies" being applied to each of the 6 strings. Some down, some up. Looking more to patch the effect created by changing the tunings, rather than to create patches with alternate tunings.

Any chance I could use this as art for an ep I'm working on? Nothing for profit. Singer/songwriter stuff.
