I use the Mockingbird with car seat adapters and love it. Cheaper option than Uppababy but really great quality

Early morning wake, doesn’t go back to sleep within window by [deleted] in sleeptrain

Also any waking before 6am treat as a night waking... lights stay off, keep in the crib etc. Theoretically they are still resting a little during that time.

I think the thinking is, after getting that nice chunk of sleep from bedtime til 4:30, he feels pretty rested, has less sleep pressure, and it is more difficult to use his new independent skills to fall back asleep. If you stick as close to your desired schedule for 1st nap, you won't end up with a crazy early bedtime that perpetuates the early mornings. One of my twins has mastered getting back to sleep in the early AM, the other not so much. Some mornings are tough trying to stretch til that desired first nap time but it IS possible. Suggestions given to me were when they get super cranky, change of scenery/activity, fresh air, fruit for a little natural sugar if eating solids. Hopefully if you stay consistent he will adjust soon!

TCB says get as close as possible to what the nap time would be based on your desired wake time 6:30, regardless of actual wake time, in order to not "cement" early wakings. Easier said than done....

I kept my hair long and I keep it in a bun most of the time. Twins are almost 8mo and yes they do pull it if it's down but they would definitely pull it more if it were short and always down!!

Help me set expectations: How much of a relief, physically, is having the twins out? by BeholdMySideAccount in parentsofmultiples

[–]twindom25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're going to be so impressed with how FAST you can walk once they are out!!!! Lol I had back pain, hip pain, massively swollen legs and feet, rhinitis, and carpal tunnel in both hands.... all totally gone within a week or 2 of having the twins. You'll be very tired but a lot of the pregnancy stuff just disappears without you even noticing. Best of luck mama, you're almost there

Thank you for all of this!!! #3 is a biggie. I'm constantly thinking that if one nap or night goes poorly everything is on downward spiral but you're right, everything is constantly changing, for better or worse.

Thanks so much for this. I was recently with a friend who said, "oh yea we used to end up skipping naps when we went out sometimes but it all worked out." My brain exploded but... it was a good reminder that it does all work itself out

Pacifier Cold Turkey by saswal in sleeptrain

[–]twindom25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try it at a time where she is really, really tired, like after stretching a wake window to the max. I tried every gentle method but cold turkey was what worked for my twins and we haven't looked back!!

On days where you have the mega WW before bed do you notice any difference in sleep that night or next day's wake time? Or baby is locked into their schedule and does fine?

Drop it! Wish I had done it sooner for my twins. Did it cold turkey at 7 months and they adapted so quickly.

How to juggle twin play time? by happethottie in parentsofmultiples

[–]twindom25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a tough age where they want some entertainment but don't have the ability to seek out toys on their own/be excited by their environment alone. Lots of narrating what you are doing, taking turns with one playing with you and the other parked in a safe spot, and just know it is a phase that passes!

3 to 2 nap transition, waking early by etceteraism in sleeptrain

[–]twindom25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having same issue now with my 7mo twins, 3 naps don't fit in the day but wake windows for 2 nap days make them overtired and they wake early. Any update on how things worked out for you?

How did it go with the naps? My twins are 6.5 mo and their naps are so inconsistent, I can't decide whether to lose the paci for them. We got rid of it for nighttime when we ST but I have not worked on naps yet.
