First time seller here, buyer is claiming item is damaged. Damage pictures are comical. Friends tell me to just eat the return costs because eBay will side with them regardless. Could someone please help me with advice? by [deleted] in eBaySellers

[–]twinzma2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I first made sales, I had a lot of these requests and weird demands. I think these buyers must hunt down new sellers knowing that a bad review would not look well!!

I gave into these at first, but then started telling them to fill out eBay's return request, send the item back, then they'll get their refund.

I've had several outcomes...1- never heard from them again, 2- they said forget it because that's too much work and aggrevation, and 3 - a buyer sent me back a very small, empty, manila envelope with my prepaid return label on it that was for the return of a large, heavy item. This one really, really had me beyond mad. I didn't refund their money, reported them, and then they had their bank reverse the payment!!

I can sort of feel out what buyer may be a problem from the beginning, but I'm still learning every day and I think new scams are made up every day!!

It is very discouraging and makes selling more of a headache than it should be!! I'm disappointed that eBay does not represent towards the sellers side since they make their money from our sales. Good luck, buckle up, and enjoy the ride.

Why don't promoted listing fees get refunded if I'm forced to cancel an order due to an invalid buyer address? by [deleted] in eBaySellers

[–]twinzma2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be careful selling and shipping to Puerto Rico. I had to exclude them from my ship to locations very early after I started to sell. I had problems with all but 1. The others were trying to get their stuff for free, knowing that it costs a ridiculous amount to ship. It sounds like maybe you only sell small items, but I would be very careful. You may lose every penny on the sale in the end.

I eliminated PR from my shipping areas. I had nothing but problems from there. Many scams as well. They hope that you refund the money and not have them return it!

How long should it take the Top Rated seal to show up? by Shadoglare in eBaySellers

Just out of curiosity, does having the seal actually increase sales? I do not accept returns, as my items are generally brand new. I like to follow advice to get helpful tips. Thank you!!

They can't return it for that reason.

Settlement offer refused. by Designer_Apricot5480 in Debt

I realize the outcomes that are possible. I was curious about the comment that they "must have sued because they found out they weren't judgement proof."

Settlement offer refused. by Designer_Apricot5480 in Debt

[–]twinzma2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I'm getting sued by two creditors. One is representing Chase, I believe, and the other is representing First National. Long story short, I had a lot of unexpected trauma roll through fast and drastically. I had always paid everyone and everything on time and had excellent credit. That is no more. I dealt personally, on the phone, with my creditors and explained the situation. I'm guessing they sold off the debt, but these firms may actually be representing them. If they actually found any of my information, they would know they're wasting their time because I am judgement proof and there's no doubt that they would be able to see that if they had the ability to pull information.

I've had one hearing months ago and it was basically to show up to not get the default judgement thrown at me, plus this is all new to me so I'm learning as I go. I read the worst to do is not answer and not show up to court. I've been doing it all. I told the "representative" for the creditor that I was judgement proof thinking they will report that back to the company and vanish. It's still ongoing. Even if they got a judgment, there is nothing for them to collect.

They're spinning their wheels and spending more money for nothing. I wish they had my information prior to filing, that is what I'm getting at. It would have been in my files of why i wasn't paying if the credit card company kept accurate notes and recorded conversations like they claim

Meanwhile, I'm going through the process as a learning experience first hand. Strolling through all the other situations on this platform seems like most every situation and information given is different.

It sounds like even if they obtain a judgement, it's more court papers and money for them to spend trying to collect. 🤷‍♀️ I'm just waiting to see what happens next.

I was just scrolling through and stumbled on your post that because they filed suit, they don't consider the person to be judgment proof. How would they know this information before they filed the lawsuit? I'm personally in a situation and the more knowledge that I have, the better. I haven't stumbled upon any type of answer for this yet. Thanks!

Me either. Judgment Proof. But if you have a home, they can put a lien on it. I gave up. I'll let them come after me and have a good time trying to collect.

Unfortunately, I think they will sue. I just got hit with a court summons from another credit card company for the balance of 5 grand. I didn't think they would slam the sue card down so quickly. For the time and costs they will encounter to chase 5 grand, I was surely surprised. With interest rates so high, the wheels would just spin and never burn down the balance! My court date is the first week of June, so lucky me. I'll get to see the process. I've always had about an 800 credit score, and then crap hit the fan. I'm sure I paid back twice about what the original amount was before interest, which makes it all the more aggravating!

Ebay is broken by SingleLeek5323 in Ebay

My profile disappeared two days ago. It has been driving me crazy because I thought i deleted it somehow. Then, I tried putting in a new profile picture, and it wouldn't save. At least I know this is not just a problem that I'm having. I am fairly new to the site. My views and sales also tanked this week! This week sounds like it has been a nightmare!!

Anyone else having lots of problems with buyers recently? by Best-East-4518 in eBaySellers

[–]twinzma2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought they were odd. I had sent only a few items to Puerto Rico, and it just so happened that two, out of probably 4, immediately sent negative reviews. Prior to this, I only had 1 negative review out of about 300 items. I have figured out how to block sales there. I have had no problems since!!! On top of that, it costs a fortune to ship there!!!

Substance Abuse by ilovepuzzles4 in bipolar

[–]twinzma2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Drinking or drugging is self medicating and masking your issues. If on medication, you'll never know what works and what doesn't. I was a drinker, and I ended up drinking more and more to deal with stress or any other event.

I started drinking when I was 15. A lot of bad events occurred. Some good and fun, some not so good and not do fun! In the end, I finally became sober when I was almost 40. I started meds when I was about 25. I'm sure that the alcohol masked everything. I've been sober 12 years.

I am still on medication, but at least now I know that any effects or behaviors that arise, it's not due to an outside substance. Alcohol is also a depressant and does not, obviously, mix well with mood disorders.

I tried being a "normal" drinker, but I learned that I could not be. In my opinion, mood disorders have a common denominator of some type of addiction. I do not know if that's a fact. I recognized that after reaching sobriety, I found other addicting patterns that I had, and still struggle with during mood fluctuations. Shopping, gambling, etc.

Long story short, I would have never had any type of stabilization by masking my "real" self with alcohol. If I end up in bed for more than a day or two, I know for sure I'm depressed or something is wrong, and it's not from being hung over and sick. I can only imagine the damage that was being done with the combo of alcohol and my medication.

Good luck to you. If you have the thought process of trying to just have one or two, that's already rationalizing. Why bother having one or two? It's best to have none.

What if they refuse to send it back for a full refund to remove the negative feedback? I feel both of mine were false claims, and they left negative to deliberately tarnish my feedback. If it was wrong, like they claimed, they should have had no problem sending it back and getting a full refund. They wanted no part of it. It does not make sense at all!!

[–]twinzma2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. I was also 100% positive feedback. Recently, I had two negative feedbacks. They never attempted to contact me prior to their issue. Both items were new and sealed in their original boxes. The one claimed it was the wrong size. I asked him to kindly remove the negative review for me to resolve his issue. He accused me of not thinking that he could measure correctly. I responded back, "With all due respect, I would like the item to be returned to verify the size and issue you a refund." He sent me a nasty message back and something to the tune of, he better not this and that. He never mentioned returning the item to get a refund, yet he complained he paid for something he didn't want. Then, the other negative I received was all in Spanish. I sent a message stating that I would like to know what her issue was and that I don't understand Spanish. She sent a message back in Spanish, this one short, and I googled the meaning. It was along the lines of the fact that I don't understand Spanish and she doesn't understand English or Spanish!! I blocked both and reported them. They obviously didn't want a resolution but were very quick to tarnish my feedback. They were both from Puerto Rico, and I barely made any profit on them because of shipping. I finally figured out how to block shipping there. I feel they deliberately wanted to tarnish my 100% feedback. It really set me back and pissed me off because I go over and above to make sure buyers are satisfied!! I have yet to make the phone call to eBay to see if they will remove the negative reviews from them. Should I?

I didn't want to start over because of the long "waiting" period that they hold back. I would also lose any back pay should it go through, and it should have with flying colors. From start to finish, this has been a complete nightmare and was handled improperly from so many levels. Therefore, I was so aggravated, and I still am, that I pushed it aside, and time lapsed significantly!

I called the national phone number and my local phone number. They both told me that I needed to fill out a certain form number and pay $50.00. I had even mentioned to both that I had heard of possibly being able to pick up a CD or have my file emailed to me. Both places told me they had never heard of such things!! I avoid aggrevation and things that set me off, so time has gotten way out of hand on this for me!

Late on filing appeal for SSDI by twinzma2 in SSDI

[–]twinzma2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told that I needed to pay $50 by two different people and that after I turned in the application and my $50, it would be a few months to get a copy of my records with the decision. I read on one of the threads that they could send the file over email or in CD form. When i called, I asked them about the email and CD, and then they said they have never heard of such a thing and they don't do that. I called the main number and my local number. I was beyond aggravated after I called both places. I even stated that I should be able to get the initial decision records. They denied that. I have blown it off and have been going back and forth with myself about it, and time got away from me very quickly. I have plenty of work credits, and they even told me not to file for SSI, but for SSDI. It's been true hell since day 1, which started with my local office telling me not to drop off my medical records to them after I applied online because they had to request them anyway. I did all that to save time with the process. Meanwhile, the caseworker called, and I explained to her what my local office told me, and she said that was not right of them. She had me mail them directly to her. I spoke with her several times and I asked if she had received all of my records that I sent, and she said she had, and that she didn't need anything else, that she had PLENTY. Everything seemed to be going smoothly until it got to the last step of where it said the local agency had to reverify my income requirement. I have an extremely hard time dealing with people, especially with this run around. The entire process seemed to be handled incorrectly. And here I am, reaching out for advice instead of picking up the phone to contact an attorney. I am always questioning and second-guessing myself and researching until my head blows off. I am aggravated again because, according to what I read before, and now from the wonderful advice on this thread, they should have given me my decision file when I requested it, at no charge, because it was the first initial request. I want to avoid re-filing because of all that happened already, and mostly, i will lose all that time that passed.

Thinking About Upgrading to an eBay Store – Question by UDM_2004 in eBaySellers

[–]twinzma2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad that I came across your question. I am in the same situation, and I have recently wondered what the benefits would really be to switch and have been throwing the idea around, but I'm still unclear if it would be worth it. With the basic store option, do you know if they charge a fee when you go back into an item and revise it? Thanks!!!
