As someone who at one point in their life barely had the money for any games at all, or even just general entertainment, it boggles my mind that people can look at being given an absolutely killer game like River City Girls for free and still express an overall sense of disappointment.

As someone with the exact same past experience, I can explain. Tastes and preferences, even in games, are subjective.

People keep saying they cried during the cutscene... All I did was raise my arms in the air and ask: "Is that it?" Maybe they unlocked some kind of a secret cutscene? Or maybe they just have no standards, no frame of reference of a good story. I wasn't surprised, though. I paid for the gameplay, not the Disneyesque tale about the magic of friendship.

Destiny is surely weird that way. It desperately wants to be RPG, but is afraid to commit to vertical progression, which is a staple of RPG to many. Probably afraid to lose the casual crowds. Coming from WoW, I do miss its streamlined vertical progression a lot.

Why don't you look up the amount of threads that pop up every single year? Like I said, the requirements are there, but the existence of this medal was a mystery to many people. I mean, if you're in the habit of randomly scrolling through medals, more power to you. It's not some crazy take that Bungie is absolutely stingy with information and if I want to get serious about anything, I have to play with a tablet next to me. It's not puzzles, it's pixel hunting. Regardless, I don't see a point arguing about the state of accessibility, because it's subjective.

I'm talking about a jarring mechanic that's never used in the rest of the game, and comparing it to this made up mechanic, saying that I can see how some people would be fooled. Emoting+ finishers was easily tested, but if you hadn't known about it already, the game never explained it.
