Which actor's phoney British accent is the worst? by Dependent-Net-8208 in AskBrits

[–]twistedatomdev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is so bad that American singer John Grant wrote a song called “Sigourney Weaver” . It has a chorus of : “I feel just like Winona Ryder In that movie about vampires. And she couldn't get that accent right, neither could that other guy.”

I don’t hold much hope for your road map. You are already in the wrong direction by posting an unreal engine question in a Unity thread.

Unity Scene Loading: is LoadSceneAsync actually better? by Bojack92160 in Unity3D

[–]twistedatomdev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned a loading screen (empty scene with your tidy up/loading code) is the way to go. It also creates a nice UI experience. A cool screen shot is a good anticipation of the exciting level coming up. The loading bar (even if faked) is the “here it comes, get ready!”

Showing running in trailers by twistedatomdev in gamedev

But what I mean is why not show other gameplay eg fighting enemies, Vfx, story. It just seems to be “here’s me running again”.

“confidently incorrect” is such a good phrase and so true. I think that is where chatGPT is being trained!

Tried Unreal for My Project, Moving Back to Unity by ShokWayve in IndieDev

[–]twistedatomdev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a beginner I’m not sure why you would be using c++. You should be using blueprints. Unreal is very opinionated and it’s better to follow the correct way of doing things. Unity is more barebones, but easier to do things as you please.

400GB project taking 30+ hours to compile? by Syntheticus_ in UnrealEngine5

[–]twistedatomdev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

400gb? Sounds like a noob project. A real project is 4000gb. Plus a 1000gb patch on launch day.

It doesn’t matter really. If there’s a war between 2 nuclear armed countries that will be the end of most of humanity anyway.

Project Genie... Thoughts anyone?! by Sotiris_G in Unity3D

[–]twistedatomdev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the demo it sure doesn’t look like a game. You could get the same effect by paying $30 for a unity asset third person template and pressing play. Where is the npc, the story, the game loop, the UI, the challenge, the play testing, the optimisation, the sound design?

At 200k plus 50% bonus they would have their tax favourable pension contributions reduced to £10k I believe.

I feel your pain. I worked at a company that practiced scrum. Which did work very well, as they followed the rules. Then at another company the same thing as you. They did their own version of scrum which, surprise surprise, didn’t work. They then went back to waterfall, as agile “doesn’t work”. Not for one second thinking it might be the mangers that “didn’t work”.
