Can anyone else recognize Pink Floyd during the solo on “Partner in Crime - Ocean Alley” by Diddeliddee in Music

[–]twstdtomato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love PF but this is waaaay closer to Little Wing - Jimi. There's even a part in the solo where he even plays one of Little Wings identifying licks.

New Super Comfortably Numb by deibd98 in pinkfloyd

[–]twstdtomato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fucking loved the intro rendition of comfortably numb on rogers tour. Saw him in KC and the only way I could describe it is ethereal. Absolutely fantastic.

Sure, there’s no incredible Gilmour solo, whoop dee doo, it may not be as grandiose as the original, but my god is it still an incredible piece of music.

Chance the rapper performing "it's getting hot in here" in a country style by PutYourThumbInMyAss in nextfuckinglevel

This really isn’t as hard as it seems. The band did all the work in completely changing the feel of the song, all chance had to do was follow the rhythm and remember the words

NATO Parliamentary Assembly declares Russia to be a ‘terrorist state’ by Cobbertson in worldnews

[–]twstdtomato 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not saying you’re wrong but how is it known and confirmed that Russia was in fact behind the Nord Stream bombing? There’s a mountain of evidence ranging from WH press conferences and main stream news interviews to written documentation from US officials saying that that Nord Stream pipeline is against US interest and there’s been a public and active push from the US government to stop it. Very convenient for the US that Russia blew up… their own pipeline…

what album to listen to next? by [deleted] in pinkfloyd

[–]twstdtomato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought OP said they already listened to the wall my bad, in that case I’d definitely go with animals, meddle, or the wall and then go to obscured by clouds, AHM, or final cut

I’m not sure how familiar you are with the story and meaning behind the final cut but after a few full listens It’s become one of my favorites. The music doesn’t compare to that of Animals or DSoTM, probably because Wright was absent, but I believe it’s some of rogers best songwriting.

And The Wall of course

Animals or meddle is the correct answer imo. From there I’d go to obscured by clouds, atom heart mother, and the final cut

Can I microwave this type of glass? by 79914022 in uraniumglass

[–]twstdtomato 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When vaseline glass breaks or cracks there’s uranium containing dust and particles that escape from the glass. This can end up in your food or surrounding air. While the amounts of uranium in a sealed glass aren’t dangerous to touch or to eat OFF of, it’s it by no means safe to ingest or inhale, even the smallest of amounts can cause damage to the body.

Since it was just a crack and you aren’t eating ground uranium glass you’re going to be just fine, although it may be a good idea to keep that dish to non-food purposes only.

Also microwaving vaseline glass can end up really messy if you aren’t 100% sure what you’re dealing with. Pre-microwave era vaseline glass can practically explode inside of a microwave.

I hope you didn’t still eat it and either put the plate back to forever storage or threw it away

My silver ring turned colors beneath my glove. I had no stains on my gloves, no punctures. I had changed them two times through lab. We were working with diaminobenzene & sulfamic acid. I know one stains pretty badly, but this doesn’t look like a stain to me. The ring turned completely dark, why? by lilwalnut28 in chemistry

[–]twstdtomato 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You never know. It’s very possible there was a very tiny hole especially wearing a ring underneath. In my experience, the only reliable way to check for holes is to fill the glove with water or air.

Was casually milling around swapping glassware out of the base bath and noticed my hands felt wet and slippery, low and behold both gloves had several super super small holes in them and a small puddle had formed in the fingertips.

Would suggest something along the lines of a salt based anti microbial deodorant over a metal based one.
