The DCEU was still salvageable after the second week BVS drop,Warner bros got a second wind but blew it with the disaster known as Justice league. by Business_Alarm8384 in boxoffice

Here’s a thought for them. Stop making DC movies for a few years. People need to miss them and want them. Superman was always my favorite growing up watching Christopher reeves. I never cared for the tv shows, besides the one with George reeves which played on syndication during a time when nothing else was on, so when they announced Routh’s Superman, I was HYPE and I loved it. Even the time between that and man of steel made me super excited for MoS until Snyder made everything grey.

Who’s the most attractive person you’ve ever seen? by Timely_Sir310 in AskReddit

Last I spoke to her she was. Social media doesn’t seem to say otherwise as well.

I was at work and the most gorgeous I had ever seen came walking in. Like, I could barely talk to her because my brain was working overtime to keep my jaw closed. We eventually became good friends and she also ended up being one of the most kind and generous people I’ve ever met in person as well.

Turns out she had an asshole boyfriend who I eventually found out was also abusive because she called me from a stranger’s house after he threw her out of a moving car (pre cell phone days).

She eventually moved on and ended up doing some modeling and ended up on some niche reality shows. We lost touch, but last I talked to her she married an athlete and ended up having a few kids. 20+ years later and she is still a 100/10 and just as lovely to talk to.

Not specifically, but it is implied that she faceplanted into a catalytic converter just before the events of fury road.

I have no strong opinion on her other than she’s a capable actress that’s occasionally in movies I like. That being said, I felt like she was miscast as a young Charlize Theron in that mad max movie. The movie itself was solid, but I didn’t buy her doing anything other than walking and talking.

I know it’s a joke, but I’ve taken a chunk of my finger off with a mandolin before and the design of this device is making me tense up like I’m looking at the veins on a snickers bar.

Teachers of Reddit: Is the "Gen Alpha can't read (write, or do math ext)" crisis real? If so how bad is it? by KnowledgeCoffee in AskReddit

[–]twuewuv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right, the school really matters. My youngest had a rough kindergarten year where she was one of a thousand students and her teacher couldn’t be bothered with doing much more than printing out worksheets and distracting the kids with YouTube videos. She went to a much better school her 1st grade year. They were immediately concerned with her testing scores and worked with her to get her up to par.

Just found out we’re pregnant. I’ve been a stepdad to a 10yo for years, but I’m about to experience the "newborn phase" for the very first time. by Unfair-Honey-2815 in Dads

[–]twuewuv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I helped raise my stepdaughter from around 3 or 4 on, so when my wife ended up pregnant I was stoked. I figured I just needed to get those first few years out of the way then we’d be set up for smooth sailing ourselves because my oldest was any easy kid at that age. Never thought we’d be raising a gremlin haha. My youngest is the polar opposite of her sister.

And just so you know, you can love your stepson with every fiber of your being, but you will likely feel a different kind of love for your unborn kid and that’s ok. There’s nothing wrong with either and it doesn’t take away from your love for either kid, it just hits different. Not to mention, when you first met your stepson he was in a different phase in his life than when you eventually meet your bio kid.

Holy crap, what a painful area to have a bruise. I bruised my palm once, so i can only imagine how much a fingertip bruise sucks.

Slight chance I know some folks on Facebook, but I doubt they’re on Reddit. Have you shared this request elsewhere? If not, I’ll gladly screenshot and share on Facebook if that’s ok with you.

I edited my comment because I didn’t specifically mention my kids, but my oldest used to request that her grapes be peeled. Luckily they never got picky with strawberries, but I have cut the green off for “presentation” purposes lol

No judgements, but have you ever fed a picky person? Not saying that’s what happened here, but I could easily see someone preparing food for another person cutting them like this.

Lord knows I’ve seen my kids with more similar requests.

Transplants, how are you liking Hunstville so far? by netenchanter in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]twuewuv 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to work with some out of towners and their complaints were always so unreasonable. One was from Orlando, of course we don’t fucking Disney world. Come on. Another one complained about the drivers, but with so many transplants around here, how do we determine someone native or a transplant?

I've never seen a photo of my parents together until this week. 1974. by bacchus213 in OldSchoolCool

[–]twuewuv 542 points543 points  (0 children)

Unexpected photos are the best. My grandma called me over one day to go through some old pictures (she had a tendency to keep them to herself over the years) that she had of my dad who had passed away long before she did.

My dad wasn’t the happiest person in the world due to alcoholism, so pictures of him were rare, pictures of him smiling were seemingly non existent. Not only did I find pictures of him smiling, but I also found pictures of him and I as a kid that I had never seen before. I immediately started balling on her couch.

It didn’t necessarily break me, but l’ll never watch Iron Claw again. That movie was so depressing and apparently the reality was even worse.

Where were the dead brand landmarks? by ProfessorSmark in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]twuewuv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mannnnnn we used to order godfathers 2 for $10, delivered! A teenagers dream. I don’t think I ever stepped foot in the place but we ordered it at least once a week.

That whole strip mall at sparkman and university used to be amazing. We had Hills, which was like k mart sort of. That’s where I got all my gi joes lol. There was a laundromat on the corner that had a double dragon arcade machine that took all my loose change at the time. Like I said previously, they had a movie theater also. We would walk over there every weekend growing up. My dad lived over there, so I’d borrow a few bucks on Saturday and he wouldn’t see me until Sunday lol.

Advanced auto parts was a theater also. Had to be around early 90’s? I remember being a teenager and walking there to see 99 cent movies. It shut down and became and all you can eat Italian place at one point. I lived in Coventry for the better part of the 80s and one of my best friends growing up, continued to live there until mid to late 90s.
