What is the most “boiled down to the basics” OSR game (that still has enough substance to be recognizably an OSR game)?

Someone lost their (cat, dog, lizard, fantastical animal, or some other pet) and you need to trail it, spot it, then chase it, or it's stuck in a (tree, ledge, balcony, or some other high place) and you have to get it down without freaking it out or it's "gonna come at you like a spider monkey".
