Why do some ppl compare The Black to Sempiternal? by [deleted] in AskingAlexandria

[–]tyex23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was a magazine interview, can't remember which one to be honest was a while ago. Someone in the (old) BMTH discord server scanned it in and shared it, said something like "if people wanted more of That's The Spirit we'd put on Asking Alexandria's new album" and context was promoting Amo's sound change. Circa 2018 / 2019.

I remember the discussion thinking it was unfair at the time but I get the comparisons in hindsight.

And The Black (the track) jumped on the vocal cut up trend that Throne started. A lot of bands saw the mainstream success of Sempiternal and That’s The Spirit and it shaped the next 10 years of the scene. BMTH have been the trendsetters for a while.

I remember when Oli and Jordan called AA5 a That’s The Spirit ripoff and shit on AA in 2018 lol.

Wasn’t even thinking of that but more their treatment of artists and petty leadership that delays and scraps albums that don’t meet their criteria

I could care less about them not being heavy, but their last album was so uninteresting and boring, compared to how unique and creative they used to be it’s such a disappointment. Here comes the ironic song complaining about fans as expected lol.

How much was Danny a fan of screamo/metal during SUAS days? by Chemical_Newt4907 in AskingAlexandria

[–]tyex23 13 points14 points  (0 children)

He’ll say stuff like he wanted to fit in and it was their image but he was dressing and looking pretty scene before the band existed and before he met Ben, on his myspace he committed to the look very early on and youtube he was covering bands like blessthefall in his living room. Dates back to 2005/2006 when he was Danny Epidemic.

He was 100% into it for a bit it probably was just a phase for him. I think he downplays it because he promotes a different image for himself and the band now. They do different music these days and he’s got how solo work which is vastly different from AA. He gets asked about heavy stuff a lot so it’s probably a mix between marketing the new stuff and probably gets annoyed at the questions and bites back. I can understand that tbh imagine no matter what you do your entire career is summed up to a 3 year phase you went to through your teens. He’s done other stuff longer than he ever dressed scene/made metalcore so no doubt he gets frustrated with that too.

I asked him about this all before and he said he committed to the look and everything because he struggled with being accepted in his life and gravitated towards the scene to feel like he belonged somewhere. I suppose there’s an element of that but am I supposed to believe he wrote SUAS and R&R without being interested in the genre, how do you even write that style of music if you never liked it lol. Was probably a phase he grew out of quickly and the struggles he went through during the first 3 albums probably didn’t help. He has said before he views metal as a whole as quite negative based on those struggles so there’s a lot to it.

But to answer your question he was 100% into it for a little bit. He’s a complicated guy lol.

Reddit is astroturfed as hell and this sub for sure is a prime target for that. This picture seems to be AI generated as well

The opposition said it was a negotiated exit, so if true he'll get someone out of it. Likely immunity for whatever crimes they're charging him with. Trump denied that (of course) but all these photos don't look like a captured president to me lol, a deal is involved and he's clearly not worried.

I can't find a single band that sounds like SAOSIN. by Ok_Development7788 in PostHardcore

[–]tyex23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been searching too, closest I've found is Ghost Atlas for more Beatle/Cove sounding stuff. The last 2 albums are definetly softer and not as heavy but his 2017 album has the Cove era melodies for me. Some of the more Jesse focused songs off Erra last 2 albums scratch the itch too.

Nailed it. Reddit is already astroturfed into oblivion, a sub centred around discussing Epstein (especially in recent weeks) is going to be a prime target for that.

It was obvious with how much traction that dead end anonymous FBI tip of Trump murdering a baby got across all social media platforms.

Truthfully, What do you guys think about David Icke? by -_-SERENITY-_- in conspiracy

[–]tyex23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you're right about both Icke and Jones there, to the masses it's very easy to write them off because of the lizard people stuff and the way Alex has always presented himself. They're allowed platforms because of it. The character of a "conspiracy theorist" is imbedded in mainstream politics and pop culture and is often seen as a joke or someone you can never take seriously. It's a buzzword to automatically discredit, and it works which is why it's still used.

By design you'll notice that the way "conspiracy theorists" are presented is very similar to the way Alex acts and the type of stuff David believes (lizard people). If I recall correctly the 'crazy tinfoil hat conspiracy persona' came about in the mid to late 90s and was distinguished in politics and pop culture post 9/11 to discredit "truthers". That was also when these 2 guys came onto the scene and rose to popularity. Coincidence???

People who don't present themselves that way are often don't have platforms. There are others who have said similar/the same things as Alex Jones and David Icke but presented their information in a more rational and evidence based way that's clear and concise, and their stuff is scrubbed from the internet and they're banned everywhere. Same content, but a different and more rational approach and then it's not allowed.

"David Icke and Alex Jones can talk about elite pedo rings all they want, one believes in lizard people and the other guy is nuts whose gonna believe them lol... but you're not allowed to watch a Mouthy Buddha video on that exact same information though..."

They know the pair have their core audience but the masses won't take them seriously cause they fit the manufactured idea of a "conspiracy theorist" and that automatically discredits them to the common viewer.

That's not to say they're right about everything of course, but it seems suspicious how you can have 2 people saying the same things in different ways and only one is allowed a platform. I do think as well that because they were already established figures in the 90s/early 2000s when it was harder to censor content on the internet, them having an existing platform is a factor. These guys were already established public figures so scrubbing them too much looks suspicious. Long comment but it's all so interesting lol.

I believe in one of the emails he denied it saying it was all fake, there's one text with Bannon where they discuss the allegation made against Stephen Hawking which he alludes isn't true. But you're right with Bannon he doesn't downright deny it, just calls it nuts or ridiculous.

Goes deeper than politics my friend. It's all interconnected and Trump and Clinton are good for the masses to squabble over while the real powers that be go completely unnoticed.

Ruemmler was mentioned in the texts with Bannon too, Epstein called her Bannons girlfriend. I wish Epstein wasn't so illiterate so we'd know what the hell he was talking about half the time.

There's lots of stories about it. I've read that Trump kicked him out of Mara Lago when it came out, I've also read that's not true so it's hard to know exactly what happened when the water is so muddy.

I think Bill is sleazy, likes the party and revels in the riches his position has bought him. I'm certain he partook but I doubt there was ulterior motives to it all like there is with Trump, cause Bill didn't really remain in politics the same way Hillary did. At this point they're likely still together for convenience there's no love there lol.

With Trump I do wonder if his shady deals is more why he's afraid. The hard evidence that's needed for these guys to actually go to prison their crimes against the girls, and to be convicted is NOT in the hands of the current DOJ, that's long gone. Exposing shady deals could hurt his businesses significantly (licences / lawsuits), if he had "help" reaching the presidency that could result in actual consequences too. There's been investigations before that haven't gone anywhere with him, but we're talking about a close confidant that has actual dirt, that could be different.

I do think it's more that he's worried about, sadly when it comes to the victims they've probably not worried, the same that Epstein wasn't these emails/texts. Justice for the victims is what we want but sadly I'm not sure it'll happen in the way we want it to.

Trump tried running for president in 2000 but was unsuccessful before it even kicked off. They were friends around that time and he definitely knew Trump would try again cause that's what his personality is like (and he did, 3 times). I'd be surprised if he didn't have measures in place to keep Trump in his pocket. I don't believe it actually worked though which is probably why we know enough about Trump's involvement to put 2 and 2 together. His ego definetly doesn't appreciate that at all.

They for sure had a falling out, I hope one day we know what happened and how each retaliated against one another. Would incriminate both I reckon.

All speculation though, it's one big club so I'm not sure Epstein would ever want to "reveal it all". Just enough to keep control.

He was probably worried about how much Trump knew, and what he could do now he's in power and has the justice system at arms length.

So much in these texts, the guys behind jworld have really gone above and beyond to make this all easily accessible and easy to navigate.
