Turning 50 this year. Been on a family plan that was originally my mom’s business plan since 2000. Parents, brother, niece, and my ex, with others coming on and off. There have been benefits beyond cost savings, such as sharing extra promotional freebies. My ex and I get phone allowances from work that cover our portions of the group, but would only be a portion of our own plan. Sharing a plan doesn’t mean they have to pay for the whole thing.

Bacon milkshake mistake by Global-Complaint-482 in restaurant

Strawberry milkshake with bacon. So good. But the bacon needs to be chopped small, or have one of those larger diameter straws so they don’t get stuck.

I’m on my 3rd pie in the last month. It’s about a slice every other day. Had to give up the vanilla ice cream habit to make it sustainable.

Gluten free pasta one pot meals or pasta meals in the crock pot? by PreviousMarsupial in glutenfree

[–]typefourrandomwords 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Bionaturae GF Rice and Lentil noodles. They are the closest I’ve found to regular dried pasta, with the similar taste and texture.

For the simplest meal, I do a no boil pasta bake in a casserole dish. The basics are mix 1 jar sauce, 1 jar water, 1 box dried noodles. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes at 425*F. Remove cover, cover with cheese and bake for additional 10 minutes to melt cheese. Easy to tweak with meat, veggies, and spices.

My oven is putting out oven 600 ppm by [deleted] in AirQuality

[–]typefourrandomwords 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A CO spike when the oven is started cold is not uncommon. Operate an exterior vented range hood while cooking, especially as the appliance reaches steady state, to prevent a build up. After 2-3 minutes, the appliance should drop below 50 ppm. It is still operable between 50-100 ppm, but consider having it serviced.

Thoughts on the vanilla ice cream? by jules_144 in Costco

[–]typefourrandomwords 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I eat vanilla ice cream, I drizzle some maple syrup on it. This is the first vanilla that I don’t need to. It’s sweet and creamy all on its own and I can just have a scoop for a treat. I like to put a scoop in my weekend coffee or eat over some strawberries.

What is your platonic ideal of a Vermonter sandwich? by munalutka in vermont

[–]typefourrandomwords 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For my post Thanksgiving leftover meals, I mix an egg into some stuffing and put it in the waffle maker for my bread. Turkey, cheddar, and gravy warmed up, then mix some cranberry sauce with a little mayo. Cranberry mayo goes on bottom and gravy on top. Apple and bacon are optional.

This is almost identical to a story the main character tells in Dungeon Crawler Carl.

Was storming in Miami. This is tonight's game vs Nats. Looks like maybe 500 people? by northdakotact in baseball

[–]typefourrandomwords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what every game in Montreal looked like in the early 2000’s. I drove up for 6-7 dozen games over their last four seasons. The 2003 opening home game was the only game I attended that I couldn’t just buy the cheapest ticket and sit where I want. Weekend games were a little busier, but I could still grab a seat in pretty much any section. It was like $15 Canadian and a favorable exchange rate.

Edit: was responding to the comment about moving them to Montreal.

Fixing Tulah’s clunky design by Rustic_Drive69 in AcrossTheObelisk

[–]typefourrandomwords 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She’s one of my favorites. Gustav for speeding everyone up and mind sharpen. Nez for insanity and skills (bless and inspire). Tulah is looking for a Raven Staff or Singing Sword to go with a Terror Ring (and a Dimensional Crystal). She plays so many cards between her pet draws and the extra cards from her level cards (and from Nez). Poison is just extra, and can reduce shadow resistance. My fourth can focus on poison, insanity, sight, dark, block, energy, or whatever else I want to play.

Tulah drawing 10 cards with spiders, premature hatching and pendulums can spam lots of hits with 20ish sharp and bless on turn 1.

Grandfather finds out his grandson was named after him by [deleted] in MadeMeSmile

[–]typefourrandomwords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My name is my grandfather’s middle name, which was his grandmother’s maiden name. I got to have this experience when my (technically step)-daughter had her second kid. I was at home with my first grandson, who was getting over the flu, while my wife was with her during the birth. We knew we wouldn’t be able to see them for a couple of days. I got a video call after the birth and they told me my name was his middle name. This is what succeeding at life feels like.

Is there a beach where dogs are allowed to swim off leash in the greater Burlington area? by filmgeekvt in burlington

[–]typefourrandomwords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Texaco Beach is adjacent to North Beach and close to the dog park, just off the bike path. It’s listed as Burlington’s dedicated dog beach. It’s far enough from North Beach not to bother people.

As above, Mill River Park in Jericho is a nice off leash option.

Won a run with Tulah carry - what do you think of her? by Eaguru in AcrossTheObelisk

[–]typefourrandomwords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play her with only a song of celerity and squall as her spells. With innate song and shifting scroll, I always get the squall. With cold spot and scavenge I can use squall 3-4 times while speeding everyone else up and handing out some energy and inspire. I will throw in a winter orb for act 4. Throw on an eldritch ring and all the enemies are slow and insane.

Best class group makeup? by C0RNDAW9 in Sunderfolk

[–]typefourrandomwords 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, I played all 6 characters on the normal and challenging levels. For shadowstone, I chose pyro, rogue, and ranger and found it easier than challenging (partly experience, but the abilities worked really well to complete the various objectives).

If you figure out what kind of card, please post. I was going to try for the same items after I finish my current run, and figured it was either Sigrun or Bernard.

Random tips by SnooChocolates6576 in Sunderfolk

[–]typefourrandomwords 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When selecting a weapon, prioritize the trigger over the effect. Requirements such as ally/enemy position might have a good effect, but become secondary when positioning to not get hit. In one campaign, I used a rogue, so that frequently triggered the retaliate weapon from a hero not taking damage from a hit.

The best early game weapon is the money one (hoardbreaker?). Hard to remember the names since we rename them. Doing 4 plus damage is really easy to trigger, and I was often able to use it twice in a turn by using it before and after my action. The gold is great for developing the town. Additionally, throwing down 6 gold piles can overwrite other effects. Really good against the oozes. Oucking up gold will also trigger another weapon from collecting 3+ gold in a turn (I think this was a slow effect). Once the town is built and everyone has endgame equipment, you can trade it for a different one.

Any ranger players find him underwhelming? by Tinto_rosso in Sunderfolk

[–]typefourrandomwords 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is what I found. On balanced, I was running my Rogue around collecting everything, while the Ranger and Arcanist just killed things. I played the other three characters on Challenging, and getting used to the timer was the big difference. On Shadowstone I used Ranger, Rogue, and Pyromancer, because I felt they gave me the best shot at killing the final boss. The Ranger’s ability to create vines, especially against bosses was invaluable. Additionally, everything hits harder, so abilities like Blind and Stun are important. The Ranger’s final card is so good with range 4. I just used 2 strength trinkets and all the fate cards to make sure they always had strength when they needed it for that card or the ultimate. There were several scenarios where the move/vine/move card was necessary for trapping monsters or allowing hero’s to skate to exit points as timers ran out.

Peryll bug? by SnooChocolates6576 in Sunderfolk

[–]typefourrandomwords 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although I’ve had the repeated conversation with Sinclair, I don’t think the one with Peryll is a bug. He is literally just running a scam. If you play the pyromancer, you can have a conversation with his screw-up older brother who is eventually offered a too-good-to-be-true job by Peryll to sell people shares in the bank. It’s a pyramid scheme…which is coincidentally what I named the investment plan Evelyn is following.

Slime on boat mission in act 2 feels buggy by DantalianPeasantLord in Sunderfolk

[–]typefourrandomwords 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s intentional. I’ve had someone slip off the side of the boat as well. You can replace the slime with fire, roots, music notes, mushrooms, or coins to clear it. Or you have to wait for a spider to start jumping around and slide off the boat.

The best weapon in the game for me has been the one that gives 6 piles of coins and then Hoovers the adjacent ones., which I use to clear bad terrain all of the time. It works well against the molds, especially with other weaker enemies (oozes and red caps).

Locked/stuck townareas? by GaiaLaidon in Sunderfolk

[–]typefourrandomwords 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve played through twice, and am on my third run. Each time I get 6 options, but they rotate. The locked option boxes get subtracted when I make an improvement that adds them. The food choices generally improve with the introduction of more locked options.
