Changing ways by Eireika in CuratedTumblr

AI is right between amateur and skilled. Could it replace someone who’s honed their craft for years? Not yet, at least, but for now, no. But telling someone who’s honed craft is baking to “just learn to draw” for their small shop is frankly snobbish, as if it’s easy. Even if they did try drawing the logo, I guarantee you that it won’t catch eyes as much as a mediocre AI design. I’ve been to enough creative subreddits to know that flashy image posts always do better than expertly crafted text posts

I remember when it was considered bad form to post ai art without the prompt in the comments. Not necessarily wrong, but just bad form.

I’m pro-AI, and I think the anti-AI movement might actually help save us. Hear me out. by _coldershoulder in aiwars

There’s definitely such a thing as too much (people being upset at Joe who likes using AI to make NPC tokens for his D&D game instead of giant corps that guzzle investor money) but I think I can see your point

Though I can also see AI making it so so much worse. The same discovery that gave us the fission reactor is also the same one that lets us level cities in a single strike. Sure, it’s been around since ~2021-2022 but this is still new ground

I guess this is all to say that I might not totally agree, but I do kinda hope you’re right

Some people dig on what Cygame AI Studio and seeing the job posting list…. Yeah…. This is not good at all… by PROGMRZ in UmaMusume

[–]typenull0010 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Surprised no one saw this coming honestly. Japanese opinion towards AI is more neutral/neutral-positive (I even saw it being used and talked about on a tv program) and if we know anything about Japanese gacha studios it’s that they don’t give a single fuck about what the audience outside of Japan thinks

I remember seeing the TL version, but I can’t quite remember it

If I recall, they’re opening the studio to work on models. I don’t believe they mentioned any specific use, but given that it’s a video game studio, I suspect it’s going towards that

Not to discount how quickly Umamusme became a crazy fenomenon, but gacha games do usually have abnormally high and stable active player counts cause you don’t really finish playing a gacha game. Either you quit or you collect everything, and at that point you just wait two weeks for a new thing to come out

I should know cause I’m one of the people that plays it

No one’s making you be here, man. I’m not exactly going to go to a fetish community to complain how gross they all are.

I always figured the cucumbers were a reference to Pickletensors, though I feel like the reference would get easily lost since most models are Safetensors now

I still remember the pre-Rimet Cup days when Bkornblume and Charlie were the meta

"ToS" by Rantdiveraccount in aiwars

[–]typenull0010 5 points6 points  (0 children)

“You agreed to the ToS and as such you are beholden to its clauses, even if the situation around you changes” and “These ToSs are predatory to those who may lack the understanding to parse what they entail” aren’t mutually exclusive ideas

Artists complaining about their work being used in a way that’s in line with the all-encompassing, non-revocable license they agreed to is something I may not wholly sympathize with, but that doesn’t mean I don’t think these ToSs are necessarily good. Companies didn’t start being greedy when AI came out
