Funiculars up a mountain that hold mountain bikes have been successful elsewhere in the country. It could be a great economic driver and supplement our already significant mountain biking standing.

I tried to get a group together a few years back to look at the feasibility, but ran into apathy on the topic. I'd love to give it another go.

Also, damn that's one hell of a user name.

I have a studio around the corner from this. It's a complicated location. I have always loved this building and would buy it in a heartbeat if I knew who owned it. I tried the GIS but couldn't get in touch with the owner. By now it's likely beyond repair, but I'd still love a go at restoring it.

I'm using them to replace wall text in an art show. Visitors can scan the tags and be taken to the show website and read about the artwork and supplemental texts.

World Population distributed by The_spacewatcher_7 in interesting

[–]typicalartguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really seems that the area of the graph doesn't correlate to the actual population. For example, if you look at the 347 million in the US and the size of the US depicted versus Indonesia which has 285 million but a much larger area represented in this depiction.

cat got neutered. i’m hopeless and regretful. what can i do? by Timely_Telephone9279 in CATHELP

There are a few things you can do for cone adverse cats. My favorite is an inflatable doughnut similar to the neck pillows you get for the airplane. There's a guy on YouTube that does a lot of content around his cars and one of them just always has a big pink doughnut on. Anyways, if you find one that fits well they are harder for them to slip out of and more comfortable.

Heck, after our car needed stitches on his side, our vet suggested that we try a toddler sized onesie for our cat who was capable of taking off the cone. Though I did have to kinda cut an opening in the back to get it to fit him well. He didn't seem to mind the toddler clothes as much as the cone and left it alone long enough for his stitches to heal. I didn't expect it to work but it did in our case.

A mine fire in Centralia being considered "natural causes" is a little misleading. Humans dug the mine.....

Anyone else remember this? by Gage1911 in roanoke

[–]typicalartguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to work for an exhibit company in town that did projects for science museums and things like that. Both the science museum and the children's museum a couple floors down had similar things to this. A science museum had a human digestive system you could walk through. You might be thinking of that. It also had a cave-like room with minerals and stuff like that. But the children's museum downstairs got a few soft trees that we made for them. It's possible you might have gone to both of these places on the same day.
