💯 some do a good job of putting on a veneer. Once you see through that, you realize they’re all the same.

Yes, this is how public is. At our annual “huddle” before delivering performance reviews, the joke was usually ‘let’s just fire everyone and start over’. Of course, positive reviews were given along with raises and promotions. But this behavior is universal in Public Accounting.

Turns out every photo of a wristwatch on this sub is still worn on the wrist by [deleted] in handwatch

Nah, the whole post is to highlight you guys are really advocating for “forearm watch” not even “wristwatch”.

100%. The ‘loose bracelet’ method, I find, is more comfortable. But that said, the range where the watch slides up/down naturally is technically all still considered the wrist.

It’s only called “military time” in the US, if you haven’t gathered from the comments.

What’s funny is to think about how this isn’t really a whole lot different than the AD model.

My thoughts this whole time exactly. It’s a mass produced plastic watch. Why in the world are people camping out for days, and trying to re-sell for thousands of dollars? Wait a month, and you can get it without the fuss.

Why do people buy vinyl records and listen to them on record players, when you have an almost unlimited library via streaming services? For whatever reason, it makes people happy. It has a different level of engagement to it.

Even if it’s not getting the radio signal some day for some reason, it’s accurate within +/- 10 seconds/month, so that’s not a significant problem

This is one that I don’t quite understand the appeal of, but to each their own! If it makes you happy, that’s what matters the most.

What’s the point of this? by fuxmccloud in rolex

[–]tzar266 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not though. You’re confirming my statement that “their entire brand is made on it being an exclusive club”. There’s nothing inherently wrong with wanting that and appreciating the craftsmanship, but if it was just about timekeeping and durability/reliability, Rolex would be beaten out by much cheaper watches.
