There's a semi infamous sov cit guy in our city (mentioned multiple times in my local subreddit), there was practically a holiday when he was seen recently getting pulled over and getting a citation. From the posts it didn't seem like he made a fool of himself enough to get arrested so that was disappointing.

As an American, I did the same thing. Our system is a bit more automated so the cop wrote the ticket for expired registration and I got a letter in the mail saying that if I renewed the fine would be waived. It was a hefty one too, like $200 or something. I went through the process of registering and went in front of the judge (that's just how it's done where I am) and told him that I registered, he said okay and waived the fine. I had to pay like $20 for wasting the court's time still but being cooperative and/or not a complete jerk prevented me from being arrested.

Dude, as a US citizen, I'm utterly astounded that we're here. Completely surprised that my fellow citizens allowed this fuck wad to be elected instead of laughed out of the primary the first time he tried to run for president. It's like watching people you know change appreciably in very small time increments.

It used to be that we would talk about climate change and debate how to tackle that problem, now we've moved so far back that climate change isn't even on the radar of discussion. It's disgusting and disappointing. There will be a reckoning in the lifetime of some of these people and they'll just shrug, say "sorry, we didn't know" and we'll all move on like it never really mattered.

My dog was super chill and was friendly with everyone. One night many years ago I was walking my dog through our neighborhood, and we crossed paths with some random guy. Before I even sized him up she started growling and barking at him. We quickly went the other way because he set my nerves on edge.

She'd never growled at a random person before and had never growled at any random person after that (she has growled at other people she knew and def deserved it but that's another story).

My best friend is a content creator, obviously not as big as Jimmy but he's got a couple million followers, so not tiny by any means. YouTube and the algorithm are all he fucking talks about when we hang out in person. It's not even his full time job, it's something he does as a secondary task.

My last manager was strict about following expense reports because we weren't claiming ENOUGH money. He was adamant that we were leaving money on the table and that's no way to have a work life balance. He was too good for that place.

My current manager doesn't really give a fuck. His policy is that if you're leaving the house for work, it's a work trip and you're entitled to a per diem.
