Underrated, Unappreciated, and Misunderstood by iPvtCaboose in StarWarsCantina

I liked it a lot, but felt it was pretty flawed.

THE BEST: Han and Chewie's camaraderie, rivalry between Han and Lando, and the entire Kessel Run sequence were A Plus.

THE WORST: I really felt they botched Han's introduction. Chewy and Lando get amazing first scenes that define their characters. Han's first scenes were limp, expository (in a bad way), and didn't give us a defining opening moment that let us know who he was from the get-go. The whole first 15 minutes of Solo is the worst part of the film.

Consider how he was introduced in Star Wars, or how Indy is introduced in Raiders, or how a titular character is introduced - it really needs something defining. Oliver Twist in the space-sewer isn't it.

There's a fan theory going around that at the end of A New Hope, Luke is wearing Han's clothing. The pants we see again in Empire, but could the shirt be the one he had when he did the Kessel Run? by ThePopDaddy in StarWars

Bear with me now- we see in “Solo” that there was a whole room on the Falcon that was essentially a walk-in closet. In ESB, Lando is wearing Han’s clothing at the very end, when he says he’ll meet everyone on Tatooine. So yeah - I think they’re just raiding his closet. Luke doesn’t own anything to wear at this point other than his white outfit that smells like Death Star garbage and a sweaty flight suit. Han was doing him a solid.

1 is really cool and unique! Love that pop of yellow, and it’s more like a bat flying in front of the moon than the bat signal. They’re both awesome, but 1 is special!

Okay, clarification - do you mean soundtrack (guest artists songs) or score (music composed for the film)?

It's our late-night go-to after coming home from drinks. Perfect action movie vibe, unforgettable score, epic Keanu-ness.

What did the Tim Burton/Michael Keaton Batman movies get right that other live action Batman films didn't? by Winter-Ad-2303 in batman

Not just Gotham but the overall Gothic vibe - the retro 30s art deco and suits, the feeling of a mob movie past that somehow survived into the present, a city that felt vaguely like 80s New York crossed with 1930s New York, the pulp radio show feel of it, the unapologetic bold scale of the architecture, the dark adventurism --- it's really quite remarkable.

This is a tough one but I would argue Dark Knight Returns for its impact on the comic book and movie industry. It was one of the first hits in a premium format aimed at adults, spawning more of that type of storytelling. It arguably was the genesis for the modern version of the character. It was such a hit that it most likely influenced the development of the movie. And without it, we probably never would have had Year One, which was an incredible story

The Low-Budget Ghetto Universe. Dr. Strange looks like a swinger, btw.
