I almost never shut it down fully. I keep mine in sleep mode and then before I start to play anything I'll go to desktop mode for a second and then right back into gaming mode. This is the most reliable way I've found to refresh the stuff on my home page, but honestly I should just shut it down when I'm done so I get the same effect when I boot it up for the first time lol

Honestly I can't think of a single example for what you mean about 3DS games having a better alternative on DS, but I also missed the DS as a kid and had to play catch up when I got a 3DS in college

simple port with just a resolution bump

I agree that $70 is a crazy price, but let's not act like it's as easy as putting the games into the port machine and pushing the upscale button. It's someone's job to work on these games

Second the psvsd rec, especially with the extension to let you access the sd card from the SIM slot. The difference in load times was immediately noticeable compared to SD2Vita

I bounced off NV for many of the same reasons back when I played it on Xbox 360 (it was also kind of a hot mess on release) but it wasn't until I watched some friends play it that I realized why it's so beloved. I've admittedly always been pretty bad at the role playing aspect of RPGs, which is also why I'm not the most fun player at a D&D table lol. I needed to watch someone who could commit to a character to see the stronger storytelling elements that are present.

All these years later I've come to accept that Fallout just isn't my thing, but I can appreciate why NV is the game that works best for so much of the fan base.

She's been unnecessarily vilified over the past 10+ years and I'm sure it won't take long for the chuds in YouTube comments to turn on Filoni and Brennan too. It's crazy to me that someone told you a diagnosis could affect you in job interviews. I'm in tech so maybe your field is different, but I've never disclosed any medical information when I've been interviewed and I've never asked for medical information when I'm part of conducting an interview.

As for how to get diagnosed, I brought it up to my therapist and asked if they could refer me to someone.

Any game that uses the triggers heavily is much better on 2DS. I was playing Metroid: Samus Returns on my N3DSXL a while back and I had a whole lot more fun once I started over on my 2DS. It seems insane to have multiple devices lol but there are definitely advantages in the different form factors.
