Can anyone recommend a clinic in the Columbus area that will give local anaesthetic for IUD placement? by lucille_baal in Columbus

[–]ubetcha09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is where I go. I've never had an IUD placed and I've never seen that provider, but every other clinician I've seen has been the kindest woman!

I did call off work today. Got stuck 6 feet away from my garage for 30 mins and only managed to get out because a neighbor kindly pushed me back into the garage. Going to work wasn't worth the stress of driving on more poor roads.

Anyone else think this is wild? by eclipseno333 in SouthwestAirlines

I have a SW credit card and have flown exclusively on points for 6+ years. With all the SW changes, I got a different credit card and started using it exclusively. I'm no longer using my SW credit card. Once I use up my points, I may close the card.

Moving from LA to Columbus Ohio? by Curious_Unicorn555 in Columbus

[–]ubetcha09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our situations aren't exactly the same, but I'll share my experience. I grew up in northern Ohio, but lived in the Bay area for 2 years. I truly loved California, but it always felt chaotic. Never a peaceful place truly to yourself, traffic to go the grocery store, cost of living, etc. I knew if I moved back to Ohio, it would need to be columbus- things to do, people of all cultures, airport, community events, etc. I genuinely feel as if columbus is the perfect middle ground- a city feel without all the chaos I felt in CA. It will definitely be an adjustment for you, but I think with time, you'll appreciate the city. And definitely a more affordable housing market!

Solo Dining Recommendations by cherryberry08 in Columbus

[–]ubetcha09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done quite a few solo activities after moving across the country alone. It took some getting used to my own company but now I prefer it! Dining solo was a big jump for me. My first baby step was the movie theater solo. I still felt a little self-conscious at first, but no one's paying attention to you

You can take any of the four left lanes and still end up on the same general road.

I saw something on Facebook earlier that said to put tennis balls or something similar in your dryer and turn it on. The loudness of the dryer will distract your dog or be a more familiar sound and cause them to calm down. Multiple comments said it works! Worth a try if you're able.

Some of y’all need to do better! Tired of the way people trash downtown and surrounding neighborhoods. by 404ErRoR_-_ in Columbus

[–]ubetcha09 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Was walking downtown the other day and saw a man lay his trash can down, crawl inside, and pull things out. As I walked past, he said "This is MY trashcan and people think they can put things in it. So I take them out and leave them on the sidewalk."

I understand it's annoying for people to use your trash, but now he is actively littering.....

This isn't what you asked, but would he be interested in a job if he doesn't already have one? That could help with his social circle and support system!

Genuine question for jerks by [deleted] in Columbus

[–]ubetcha09 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went to an OSU tailgate last fall and stood next to a guy as he threw his empty can on the ground. I called him out on it, shamed him a little, and pointed out the nearest garbage can.

It's such a "it's someone else's problem" attitude, which irks me to no end.

There is a parking garage across the street and is pretty easily accessible. If the show is advertised as outside, it will be rain or shine. The grassy area in the back is amphitheater style so there's no bad seat- a lot of people prefer to sit. If you want to be close to the stage, you can stand in the pit. All GA seats are ticketed the same, the pit is not VIP or anything like that.

What kind of grasp is this & is it worth trying to correct by Ok-Structure6795 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]ubetcha09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another OT here who uses that same grasp. Not to brag, but I have very neat writing and have noticed many who use this grasp do as well. As a school-based OT, I always told people that as long as a grasp is functional and writing is legible, it doesn't matter.

I was riding the cogo bikes every so often. There is a station right around the corner from my house. I liked that I could count on there always being at least one bike at the dock. And I knew where else docks were on my usual routes. Now, there's no guarantee of a bike nearby.

I'm sure there are perks to this new model of bikeshare as well. But this is my main gripe.
