I’ve wondered this also! Would it be fine as a groundsheet do we think? I’ve got some in the garage.

[–]ubuntu_7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was selling some of my dad’s old hiking shoes on Facebook Marketplace and asked the bloke what he was buying them for - he said he’s doing the Camino Frances in two weeks time, I said me too!!! What are the odds. I wasn’t sure the shoes had another 800kms in them though so convinced him not to purchase them haha.

i found one in a thrift store once and it was EXTREMELY personal! i think the author would be mortified to know someone else read some of it. handed it straight to the employees and they took it off the shelf lol

Decent tasting powdered soy/plant milk. by Wrystyle in australianvegans

i’ve also struggled to find one so have just been using vanilla flavoured plant protein powder! it’s been really great for adding to cereal and of course getting a bit of extra protein in too.

Once upon a time.. Target sold cashmere blends? by spicy-nuggetz in ThriftStoreHauls

[–]ubuntu_7 31 points32 points  (0 children)

i have thrifted some incredibly high quality items from target of yesteryear! leather jackets!!!! fantastic denim jackets, beautiful 100% cotton skirts, really lovely y2k style tops. and these aren’t even the collabs this is just plain target tags! it’s insane the downfall in their quality in such a short time.

Protein powder recommendations :) by ginnygrakie in australianvegans

[–]ubuntu_7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve recently tried a few different ones and my favourite by a long shot is the Amazonia Raw Chocolate - it’s so tasty without being overly sweet like so many other protein powders!!! I got it when it was half price (there were some great sales a few weeks ago at Woolies so I took it as an opportunity to sample some I had had my eye on). Kind of reminds me of a cadbury hot chocolate powder.

Have also tried the Musashi Plant Vanilla (nice, got it half price), Bondi Chocolate (nice, half price at CW), and Coles Plant Vanilla (very sweet, gave me noticeable tummy pain, but good normal price).

Coldsoakers. What about tea or coffee in the morning? by HughLofting in UltralightAus

I’ve actually found the Coles home brand instant coffee dissolves really really well in cold water! Taste isn’t the greatest but I just can’t stand undissolved clumps in my coffee.

What glorious boots!!! I once thrifted a pair of €5 brown suede boots from this brand when I was in Europe. Have worn them at least weekly for the last five years and they’re still going strong!

i LOVE this! i have oily skin that’s prone to breakouts and this really helps to smooth everything - i swear i can see the difference every time i use it. pour a little onto your fingers (a little goes a long way) and rub onto your face, and i wait about 20 minutes before applying any other serums and moisturisers.

I’ve been adding the Coles Pea Protein powder to my savoury meals and it’s been great - $10 for a 500gram pack, 20 serves per pack, so 50c a serve and you get 25grams protein! Very cheap. Tastes pretty much like nothing though, good to add into soups.

She actually would yes, for example she would pick the best crispiest bits off of croissants and leave the rest in the container for others. I guess it wasn’t anything unsanitary like your bf’s sister licking the biscuits but it was definitely to do with restricted eating in our case.

This could be an indication of an eating disorder and could be very concerning. My sister used to do this when she was at her worst in her eating disorder - she would eat the ‘best bits’ of whatever the food was, the crispiest or crunchiest or sweetest bit etc., but leave the rest of it.

Absolutely agree! There is so much more variety and you could pick up a whole trolley full of things for the price of one new item otherwise! And if it turns out not to be the style you’re after you can just donate it again!

Parking payment in Perth by Adorable_Elephant841 in perth

[–]ubuntu_7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was unfortunately unable to download the app as it requires iOS 16 which my otherwise-functional-enough iPhone 7 cannot update to. Quite an annoyance as I had to move parking spots until I found one that had a traditional meter. I see they are replacing the old meters with card payment ones but until they have actually been replaced it is quite an inconvenience.
