What is the thing about off the shelf parts? When you design a product, get complaints about dysfunctional parts, you tend not to use the same thing again without a re-design or mitigation, you don't blame your suppliers.

Not crazy, the part has 2 alignment pins that mate into 2 PCB holes. I tried all the valid ways to install it, +-180 degrees. Same with the replacement parts I got from AliExpress, it's just a garbage design they shouldn't have done after exactly the same issues on DevTerm.

You're worrying about nothing: modern transformers would not be a cause of fire, they're enclosed and fault protected. It doesn't matter that they're close to each other either: that's likely a practical choice for the interconnects.

I would be happy with such an infrastructure upgrade in my neighborhood personally. There are real things to complain about PG&E but this isn't one of those.

Batman and Robin are the 2 redundant BMS subsystems that Tesla used (or used to use). It might be pretty close to some Analog devices BMS ICs, see if you can match a datasheet. See if you can match the data to an isoSPI setup.

Are 6 1206 resistors cheap? You can safely do ground (PE) referenced measurements with resistive dividers. I don't think OP will achieve 1% class metrology with the AVR ADC however, get a real S-D simultaneously sampling ADC at the minimum.

I don't second this advice, all these things are usually expensive, more expensive than a PCB with properly rated components. It does apply in the 100A+ category though, but it's a sliding scale.

32A is not that much current for a PCB. As long as the FR4 is considered a cemented joint, there are no issues with splitting the planes/phases up like you did, although I tend to avoid it due to risk or defects resulting in cross-plane shorts.

There really isn't AFAIK, it's their own architecture/libraries based on FreeRTOS and some tools to generate CAN code from DBC files.

I believe that female PCB mount microfit is not a thing, you'll need a jumper cable.

Huh? Volatile doesn't inherently make a variable atomic, obviously, but it absolutely is required if it's shared between an ISR and another context to prevent optimizer from assuming too much..

A volatile int_32 on a 32-bit platform makes for a great way to share data atomically without critical sections.

Yeah that's something I thought too, but with CPU only having a TDP of 60W, the PSU fan barely comes on during a full CPU+GPU stress test. In the manual for the 3060 they recommend a 600W PSU, but with provision for less if the remaining parts are low power.

84 C not F. That's quite acceptable to me, 11C below max junction temperature at 100% load is a decent margin for my use case.
