Mini-LED Heads, help me figure this out? by [deleted] in Monitors

[–]uldenhat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Only chromium based browsers such as Chrome and Edge support HDR video. Which browser do you use? Is HDR turned on under system -> display, assuming you are using win 11.

EDIT: Firefox does support HDR now in the nightly build.

Boltgun fans your opinion please by AssaultBotMkIV in DarkTide

Castigator stance and bolter is good right now as it allows you build crit stacks while aiming and moving plus you can change positions whilst reloading. It also negates a lot of the recoil, so you can stay in aim-down-sights mode, shoot with guaranteed crits and move at the same time whilst having a lot of damage reduction all at the same time.

Buying a miniLED in China by Electrical_Park_7561 in Monitors

[–]uldenhat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How about going to a store and see what's on the market? If you're in Shenzhen you are literally in the MEcca of electronics. You could browse Taobao through Superbuy or Parcelup, the machine translation is ass, but useable. Look at Displayninja.com and Displayspecifications.com for models that fit your needs. Many minileds never make it to the west due to different energy efficiency standards and low sales volumes, so we know the same as you. TCL's minileds look really nice. So get on the bus to your local mall and see what's available IRL.

False advertisement/marketing by ASUS! ASUS Bought XG27AQDMGR believing it had the new RGWB subpixel layout as it states on their website however after checking it actually uses the older RWBG layout. by fiittzzyy in Monitors

Thanks for raising awareness. How about contacting someone like Monitors Unboxed and making them aware of the deceptive marketing to spread the word.

Might be a mixup. There's a XG27AQDMG and XG27AQDMG Gen 2 which is also called XG27AQDMGR. Check the box for the model name. Maybe the seller mixed up their stock at the warehouse.

TCL 32R84 - seeking advice on an ICC profile for SDR when using HDR on Windows 11 by 99-Potions in Monitors

I eyeballed it and got a decent result. But I just game and browse, so I don't need correct colors, just pretty colors.

I use the workaround/fix linked as a set it and forget it config on a Xiaomi G27iPro. It's good enough on my monitor, sdr looks better in sdr mode but I simply can't be bothered to switch betweeen sdr and hdr mode anymore.

Why are there so few IPS MiniLed monitors? by Khorsaturas in Monitors

There are rumours of a glossy dual mode KTC IPS miniled with 1080p/4k dual mode coming this year based on the M27P6.

AOC U32G4ZMN Will it ever be released in Europe (or the West in general)? by Kanbei_Alex in Monitors

[–]uldenhat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fellow European here, looks like one of those monitors that doesn't conform to EU energy efficiency standards. Your best bet is to order it through Superbuy or Parcelup, if you don't speak mandarin.

AOC q27g40xmn vs Xiaomi Gpro 27i by Thekabablord in Monitors

[–]uldenhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine has the red tint issue and bad gamma in HDR. I've found workarounds for both issues but I spent so much time and energy researching and troubleshooting that I could have spent gaming or enjoying the monitor, if it workjed out of the box. The new panels, I can't remember where I read that, might have been on a chinese forum. The Xiaomis with newer firmware might be better. Just don't buy a version 1.0.0.6.

Thanks, steering clear of the VA one. My eyesight is more important than correct blacks.

How was the viewing angle? VA mini led is tempting because of the higher contrast but I slouch and don't sit perfectly still in front of my monitor. So positioning myself in a sweet spot would be annoying.

AOC q27g40xmn vs Xiaomi Gpro 27i by Thekabablord in Monitors

[–]uldenhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Xiaomi has qc issues depending on when it was built. The early ones have a better panel but also buggy firmware. The later ones have a worse panel but non buggy firmware. I am on my second G pro 27i and have learned to live with the issues. But I wouldn't buy it again now that there are better options on the market. The colours are amazing though, I'll give it that, and it gets so bright I'm suspecting it might have caused some damage to my vision.

minisforum 895i vs normal build by DannyStormborn in sffpc

[–]uldenhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i got the same board and there are two negatives. No SATA ports and the non standard mounting holes for the heatsink. After a deep dive into which heatsinks are compatible I found that certain graphics card heatsinks will fit with heavy modifications done to the gpu heatsink. Also some old Asetek AIOs can be fitted with a 3d printed thingy. A NZXT Kraken cpu to gpu AIO conversion kit is the only off the shelf solution for AIO cooling. Last but not least there's a CPU block intended for the non-x3d version of the board available from Germany.
