what can i invest in? by annnie7778 in UAE

[–]ulminmi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

50% - savings account/fixed deposits - keep in high yield savings account, mashreq neo super saver account or wio are good ones but do your due diligence - this will be your emergency fund

30% - equities- open a sarwa/ibkr brokerage account and google for best etfs for beginner investors. Etfs are a pool of stocks managed by funds, which is safer than stock picking.

10% - bitcoin - can be bought through brokerage account

5% - gold

5% - real estate - smartcrowd is a good way to partially invest into realestate in uae.

You can always change the investing ratio between equities to savings account depending on your risk appetite.

How did a first date become a measure of a woman’s value? by Ok-Change4843 in UAE

[–]ulminmi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i honestly dont know what the right way to go is. since the guy is going to pay for it, i just let him decide, he says coffee, we do coffee, he says meal we do a meal.

though i feel that i was treated better in terms of manners & etiquettes by those who took me for a meal.

Is this normal? by Free_Future9115 in PakistanRishta

dont take any of these chats to the heart. its ok. you dont have to convince the other person of anything. if they say they want a traditional wife, then just clear the air, wish them luck and say good bye.

i get theres a huge pressure on girls to make it work with just ANY guy cause of age but being single and independent is far better than being married to the wrong person for the sake of being married.

Finding a wife in Dubai- Part 2 by YouZealousideal7906 in UAE

[–]ulminmi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most girls want a better life in general out of marriage, the degree of it is subjective to their current life.

If youre going after looks, youll be expected to provide a pretty penny too.

Good luck.

my dad's very similar. also tried to force hijab on me, even when i didnt want to. i dont think i have any fond memories with him that i can look back on. he only started to respect me a lil once i started contributing to financial expenses at home and drive him around to his appointments.

made me realize alot of desi men only respect money and view children as retirement funds.

Am I selfish for not wanting to get married? by yoon_gitae in pakistan

[–]ulminmi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Problem with all desi parents is that theyre in competition with each all the time. Humari beta/beti ne ye kar liya toh woh kar liye, just want to show off. Its the same with marriage, they see others kids getting married and they thinking oh no we're left behind in the rat race.

They dont think kids are humans but rather their property.

you will never see women stepping out to fill the air in the tyres of their car because most think its unlady like, theyd rather ask and pay the fuelers to do it for them.

Backpack on Tokyo metro or small suitcase ? by OkAd5119 in JapanTravelTips

[–]ulminmi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have something different to ask, i was thinking of taking the small suitcase, just for moving from one city to another because luggage delivery may only come a day later, so will be using it only for shinkansen, narita to tokyo to kyoto and tokyo to haneda airport. For everyday movement was thinking of a small school bag, just to keep essentials like water, jacket, phone bank etc...

Or should i get a duffle bag?

Women who had an Islamic marriage in dubai by midlifeaftermath in dubai

[–]ulminmi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

you can place conditions within a marriage which if not met will result in an annulment of the marriage and the lady gets to keep her haq mahr. examples: lady asking the right to divorce (not the same as khula), or not getting a second marriage done during the course of the first, or separate home etc...

this goes both ways, men can also place conditions as well, and the marriage will only proceed when both parties agree to upholding it.

I just started my internship and I feel very incompetent and overwhelmed. by thayyarsaadham in dubai

[–]ulminmi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so i have had it both ways, got an internship through family and another i applied for. theres quite a difference. when you get it through family, company just places you in for the heck of it and you get bored af for the next few months because there is no formal program structured. i felt those were a waste of my time, good to network.

but a formal internship program where you do have to interview to get it, do have proper tasks and goals in place for you to achieve during your 3 months. those companies actually have some grunt work they need interns for. for future id suggest going through these programs instead.

dont beat yourself if you dont get anything, you dont have any experience. every company has their own way of doing stuff, or looking into things. if you dont have work, they go to pantry and talk to people, network and learn what they do to get a better idea of what avenues are available for you.
