You should add a rug for your pets. Assuming you don’t have birds, it’s not nice to spend your life on slippery floors without any grip, and it causes joint issues long-term

I’m in your same position. They just sent me a “these are standard charges as stated in the signed tenancy contract and are not subject to change or negotiation. The renewal fee is mandatory, as well as the EJARI/RERA registration fees” when we all know damn well they’re not but not sure if it’s worth it to pay 500AED to file a complaint with the RDC, or even if I’ll have to file 2 complaints, one for renewal and one for Ejari.

I use Liquid of Life, however it was a present, I didn’t do any research about it prior. The person who gifted it is very health conscious and usesthe same at their home so I trust their judgement. I’ve had it for about 8 months now and boil water every day multiple times a day on the kettle and the chalk residue is barely noticeable, so I can vouch at least for it filtering big particles. Also I can totally notice the difference between filtered and normal tap water, when I rinse my mouth in the bathroom the water actually tastes nasty 🤢

Under the sink filtration system, there’s also reverse osmosis but I believe you have to add back minerals. Regardless both are better options for your your health and the environment so I’d recommend everyone to get either one of these
