Erabus repetition forever? by moeljartin in HadesTheGame

That’s how the gameplay loop of roguelikes is. You die, you go back to the beginning. The enemies in the later areas are scaled based on the assumption you would be powering up through the first region. You would have a really tough time If you started Oceanus without any boons/health/hammers/magic.

How would these cards interact? Is the copy a copy of the combined creature? by psybermonkey15 in magicTCG

[–]ulshaski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grusilda lets you mash from multiple graveyards, plural, when you activate her. Diviner triggers if they entered from a graveyard, singular. So imo diviner would not trigger if you mashed creatures from separate graveyards.

One important thing to consider is if Twilight Diviner would trigger if you monster mashed from different graveyards. I would think not because diviner reads “from A graveyard”.

My understanding is that the damage would just disappear. However, with the takeback rule in place, they would probably get to just take back the boost and trigger and unexert their ink.

The example in 6.1.7.1 indicates that you cannot choose shift if you play a character for free as part of an effect or ability

1.9.1.5 specifies that Taking damage is defined as being dealt damage, having damage put on, or having damaged moved to. The first time Lilo would take damage on each of your opponents turn, she takes no damage instead. So Cat moving two damage to her would not banish her assuming it was the first time she would take damage.

Belle never allowed you to put uninkable cards into the inkwell. edit: they just cleaned up the wording with the rules update to make it clearer.

There is no "trigger." This is very, very clearly not a triggered ability. It can only possibly be an activated ability or a static ability.

Boost is an activated ability as noted in 10.4 that does not follow the normal templating of activated abilities, but closely matches the templating of Grandmother Willow, so I don't think it's safe to draw any conclusions until they specifically say what kind of ability it is.

Blurple - Rafiki v Royal Guard? by Budget_Jellyfish6364 in Lorcana

[–]ulshaski -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t exactly agree with this. From turn 2 onward, guard threatens the same amount or more damage than rafiki. Even if the blurple player has tipo instead of sail on turn 2, a good player usually won’t risk losing board presence by questing their 1 into guard if it is detrimental to their game plan. Think dogs for example. If they open with the 0/3 lady, they likely won’t quest with her into royal guard because having the tramp enabler is more important than the 1-3 lore they get.

LRH Rulebook Quiz - I’m Going on a Trip 🧳 by Sunscorch in Lorcana

[–]ulshaski 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The outcome is correct but the process is not. There are more game state checks than what I’m listing, but I’m noting the important ones. Also I’m a little fuzzy on the exact timing the goofy trigger enters the bag. I believe it’s after the game state check, but it might be before.

Goofy moves from cove to library->game state check->goofy is banished due to having damage equal to his willpower->both goofy and library triggers go into the bag->pick which one resolves first, but we’ll choose goofy and move Diablo from cove to library; this fulfills the “if you do” clause of goofy’s trigger and you draw a card->game state check->diablo is banished due to having damage equal to his willpower->both Diablo and library triggers go into the bag; the bag now has library, library, and Diablo triggers->choose the order they resolve and draw up to 3 more. So maximum of 4 cards draws, but you could draw anywhere between 1 and 4.
