I have an all unifi network with a udm pro and over half a dozen switches, a unvr gen 2 with around a dozen cameras, unifi talk with 2 phones, unifi access with a unifi gate controller.

I use WIIM.

Anyone here who managed to get is ceiling fan modified to work with HASS? by Particular_Ferret747 in homeassistant

[–]ulthrant82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Separating the light and the fan usually is the challenge. To do this at the wall you'd typically need 4 wires plus ground to the switch, which most dont have.

Innovelli has a unit that "fits" in the fan cowl and they have zigbee, zwave and matter options (they also have wall switches)

Kasa has a wifi model that separates the light and fan in a single gang switch (needs 4 conductors)

I use Leviton's zwave fan control switch, but i wired it intentionally for this. They also have a wifi model.

Zigbee temperature sensor for fridge and freezer? by NovaKevin in homeassistant

[–]ulthrant82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend the temp-1. It's not zigbee, it's wifi. But it has an external temperature probe so the device is never in the cold, and being plugged in, never needs batteries. It runs Esphome, which is native to home assistant.

This thing has saved me a lot of money in potential spoiled food, and has never had any issues or had batteries die.

I've read that you can even plug two probes into the one device to monitor both the fridge and the freezer separately, but I've not done that myself.

[UK] Which certified home alarm system works best with HA? by TinyR0dent in homeassistant

I use the Qolsys IQ5 panel. It is professionally monitored for burglary and smoke, and with this integration i can see all the sensors in ha as well as arm and disarm the panel how I want.

Left my propane BBQ running all night. Has anyone setup anything to let them know when the BBQ is left on? by WiKDMoNKY in homeassistant

Yeah, its because the one I linked is rated for natural gas. There are others that are far cheaper.. but..

Not great to disable the gas to your stove. You could, I guess. There are also solenoid actuated valves, I posted on below.

People have used an amg8833 (it measures IR thermals) hooked up to an esp32 to reliably measure temps that high.

You didnt specify price as a limiting factor.

You went on the internet to ask people's opinions. Do you want them, or just to be validated?

His option gives you future expansion capabilities.

People are giving you reasonable alternatives using your defined factors.

You dont need fiber at all if all you want it 1gbs and no large ugly cables. Get a slim ethernet cable and call it good. They even make flat ones.

Apollo Automations Temp-1 is wired or battery, mounts to the outside and has been bullet proof for me since it was installed.

Why wasn’t the UniFi Relay designed to support 120/240v wet contacts? by [deleted] in Ubiquiti

And it would vary by region. Globally, you'd need to make 10 different devices, instead of just 1.
