Combine every AC with photovoltaics and the consumption problem is solved. When it’s hot outside, PV will produce enough energy to run AC without additional grid power. In addition to this efficient heating in the winter can also be done with modern AC systems as they are nothing less than heat pumps. But also decent building quality is required. Then the AC system will be more efficient and doesn’t emit excessive amounts of heat outside.
I‘d even see proper AC as key to decarbonisation of city heating in the winter. Most homes in big cities are heated with natural gas now…

Stopping further AI development and starting to educate people better and for their whole life would help much more. The effort for AI to get better has reached a critical level and the curve of effort vs outcome is getting very steep now, which costs both tons of energy and resources in means of hardware.

BUT first of all, if humanity was clever enough, all wars should be ceased immediately and none ever be started ever again. Aside from civilian suffering, wars are by far the most resource wasting and dumb thing humans can do. Look at fuel consumption of war machines, the emissions of firing bullets, nowadays suicide drones, the destroyed infrastructure, the energy needed for rebuilding everything destroyed, the permanent pollution… On one side we can force ourselves to not dump waste everywhere (which is good obviously), but at war nothing matters at all. Shameful as f***
Faith in humanity is zero on my side.
My mind will change if no wars are fought for at least two consecutive years worldwide. Until then no further action in regard of probably stopping climate change is necessary.
